Tired on the flight from Agra to Hyderabad in March 2022, one day after Holi the festival of colours in India, I arrived at Bengaluru Airport around 5pm. Transiting via Bengaluru airport for the second time, I wished to have a hot meal without shying...of the opportunity as I had done on the first trip in September 2021. Try Malgudi Days on the first floor, I heard my cousin Priya on the phone, echoing her husband who frequently travels the circuit in India and abroad. Tiffin Centre on the first floor is located after the check-in for departures international or national, right next to the wrist watch shop. Airport staff helped give me directions, so that was QED - quite easily done. The signage says 'eat in.... Bengaluru' and you stroll past a bar to reach it. There they offer North Indian fare such as chole bhature. I was in the mood for South Indian and perked up when the receptionist said 100 meters away, opposite Gate 2, was their other outlet. Malgudi Tiffin Centre text appears online but not on the signage. So Tiffin Centre it is, with a beautiful muggu kolam for logo. I watched traveller's squeeze their strollers along the side entrance and pathway, look at the menu board and neat display of cooked food and raw pulses in tall glass bottles, nonchalantly ordering their takeaway meal, paying at one counter and picking up their order at the next. And yes, I tried my best to emulate their poise and style, silently thanking the two ladies who went ahead of me for being there. I went to the stand-as-you-eat tabletop and heard an experienced angel announce, "You can be seated inside the restaurant, if you want. I could hand over your food from across this table." That is how I gratefully walked up to and entered the vegetarian restaurant's sit-in area-without-walls, along with my carry-on luggage, pulled a stool, leaned across for my food from the takeaway counter and sat eating it at the wide polished wooden table. The vegetable biryani was mildly spicy, served hot in a cardboard tumbler with cap, wooden spoon and a separate light plastic container for raita, the curd and onion side dish. I rounded off my rich meal with the hot decent cuppa coffee I had ordered earlier, nestling it in my palms for warmth. Not the best of combinations, did I hear you say? Well, it was a most decent package priced at Indian Rupees 471 and helped my Energy return sufficient for writing this review piece for sisters and brothers of my universe.More

Average taste and quality that doesn't match the price. Upma was spolied and smelling. Upon informing to the manager, he called the Cook from kitchen to check and he smells and says it is fresh as if Iam lying and wanting the bill to be...made free. I had to leave the food and table immediately out of embarrassment. whatever said and done you cannot feed someone spoiled food.More

Have definitely had much much better south indian food than this. Food served is cold. Idlis are hard. Taste is average. Probably wont be coming back unless I am starving and there is no other option.

We had the vegetarian Thali’s and they were delicious, very filling and well priced (~$6). The only thing that stopped it getting 5 stars was the slow service, but they were very busy. Would recommend.

I stood by the sideline and observed the traffic of the diners. The servers were carrying idling and dosa one after another. I wanted to have both but didn't have an order of just one idli. So I opted for dosa. WOW! The batter was...very tasty, coconut chutney was flavorful and the sambar was not watery. The total bill was less than the coffee I ordered down the hall. This is a sit down eating place where the servers take your orders. Definitely a great breakfast.More

The restaurant is a hot cake at the Airport and it can’t be missed. Especially if you are looking having a good South Indian Meal. The food tastes good but could have been better. The portion is also sufficient for a single person. The only...negative this restaurant has is slow service. Few times they even forget your order to get it delivered on table and also I saw few orders getting jumbled with other tables.More

I had lunch at the Tiffin Centre, Bangalore Airport. Food is yummy and good quality. Service is bit slow. Lots of varieties they serve and if you need any items ask for it. I'll consider it if there's at least one hour time for boarding.

Rude and impolite staff. Enquiries are met with arrogant, indifferent responses. Please improve quality of service.
