This review is for Sukh Sagar Hotel located next to Sapna Books, Gandhinagar. Restaurant on the mezzanine floor serves Vegetarian Buffet Lunch priced at 294 per head. Ambiance is great, waiters are helpful. Moreover food is great. Buffet starts off with a choice of soup...served on the table, a paneer and another Manchurian to be accompanied as starters. In the main course, you get a vegetable and a paneer gravy along with choice of tandoor served on your table. Later you have a North Indian rice along with dal of the day. Followed by Noodles and a Chinese gravy for Chinese lovers. Later you have white rice with rasam and poriyal. You can end your meal with a soothing curd rice with mixed vegetable pickles. The menu also has some salads, papad, and raitha. In the desert section you get a Bengali sweet, Vanilla ice cream with fruit salad. Or you can also have ice cream with hot chocolate. I would highly recommend this place, if someone is looking for some good food. It is a value for money place.More

Was the first to arrive early in the morning at 6:45 am. Other dishes were still getting prepared so settled for the coffee( kaapi) . Wasn't hot enough for the coffee aroma to shine. The coffee cook/maker/artist!! 😂 didn't seem interested to learn that the...coffee was not hot. Too early in the morning and appeared like he was just warming up. Have eaten here long, long back . Will try any of the food here again and update the review.More

Located near National Market, Majestic area, Bangalore - this restaurant takes me back to Chandni Chowk of Delhi with its yummy and delicious chaat items and grill sandwich toast varieties. Dahi puri and Bhel puri is also quite good here. Further, they have a proper...dining restaurant adjacent to National market with proper table seating and one can order thali or a-la-carte food.More

29/12/17: It was my first visit to Sukh Sagar in Gandhi Nagar. I am a bit of a foodie and like Kannada / Udupi cuisine, especially the sambar and wanted to try out the place and this was convenient because it was located right opposite...to the hotel i was staying (U T Elegance). I glanced through the menu and my first impression was the items were a bit pricey. Not too high, but yes, a bit pricey. Items ordered: 1. Pani Puri: The 1st item i chose to order was pani puri and i was super influenced by the picture of the pani puri in the menu and i imagined a surge of gastronomical delight to attack my taste buds and eagerly awaited it. The server took some 20 minutes to arrive (I wondered why because its an easy chaat item and the restaurant was not very busy at that time). The surprise that hit me was the stuffing for the puri did not resemble what was pictured in the menu. I expected boiled mashed potato stuffing and i got boiled sprouted green gram !! :-) :-) check out the photos! Now, I agree that pani puri stuffing can be anything, but hey! I was not prepared for sprouted green gram :-). I decided to try it because, ...well, sprouts are good for health (sarcasm alert) The spicy pudina water and sweet sour chutney were OK and nothing extraordinary to write home about. The sprouted green gram stuffing was not spiced or anything. In short, I have had better pani puri elsewhere and so my quest for the best tasting pani puri still continues. Taste rating: 5/10 (Sprouted boiled green gram stuffing! Not cool!) 2. Mysore Dosa: Now i love Mysore masala dosa and as i was about to order, I saw "Mysore Masala Dosa" and "Mysore Dosa". Turned out that Mysore Masala Dosa had red chutney filling inside , while the Mysore Dosa had green chutney inside. I ordered the Mysore Dosa, still a bit sceptical after the Pani Puri fiasco :-) Strangely, the dosa came much quicker than the pani puri, right on time when my hunger pangs were increasing. One look at the dosa, the sambar, and the coconut chutney and i knew it would be delicious. I didnt have to taste it. I knew it. Right amount of crispiness - Not too crisp that the dosa would fall apart into pieces, not too soft like a wet handkerchief. It was perfect. The green chutney inside the dosa was so tasty by itself the dosa could be eaten without the sambar or chutney. But then, that would be blasphemy! I followed the time honored ritual of eating dosa. I took a piece of the dosa, folded it into a cone and scooped a bit of the chutney, and immediately dunked it into the sambar, and gobbled it. Now, THAT was the gastronomic nirvana, The gastrononic delight that evaded me earlier was achieved in the Mysore Dosa. Sukh Sagar's Dosa took me deep into the Sagar of Sukh (Sea of Happiness). Taste rating: 9/10 (Why 9? Because there is always room for improvement) 30/12/17 Lunch: I ordered a South Indian Thali and i like the Kannada thali. The items include a limited bowl of rice, a cup of sambar, rasam, curd, 3 pooris with some bhaji, the veggie of the day, rava kesari, and a small glass of buttermilk. All items served were tasty with second helpings of veggies as as required. The buttermilk (Served in a small glass) tasted funny, though i was unable to figure out what was wrong with it. Probably some spices that i was not familiar with. I never asked, so it will remain a mystery! At Rs.105 per plate, the lunch was very satisfying. I liked it. Now, I have had Kannada thali at few places and the thali at Sukh Sagar was much better. Taste rating: 8/10 Overall, I feel Sukh Sagar is one of the better places and i would probably hop in there just for the dosa and the meals when i visit Bangalore again. The only opportunity for improvement i saw was the response time of the staff. I visited them again during dinner and found the staff on their toes as the place was packed. But, surprisingly, when the place was not crowded with just few tables occupied, the response time to serve was a tad bit slow. Can improve on this. Overall verdict: Best vegetarian multi cuisine place in the Gandhi Nagar area,More

We went to eat in the North Indian serving side of the restaurant, it was lunch time and it appeared that they were mostly interested people having buffet. My wife was not feeling well and I also was not well , we wanted to eat...only little bit so we asked for al a cart menu , We ordered a curry and asked for it to be mild. When the curry came it was hot on complaining the waiter said it was mild. Actually it looked like it was a curry from the buffet at least the sauce was. We had asked for pineapple raita and it looked like instead of curd it was milk, The waiter was not prepared to listen and wanted to speak to the manager who never came. Eventually another waiter came and did bring in a New curry and changed the raita with plain curd. But was not happy with the first waiter at all.More
