great sumptuous wazwan food

located very conveniently near first gate of dal lake. on display outside are mouth watering kebabs so one can easily see and decide what to order. there is both indoor and outdoor seating. portions are huge and very reasonably priced. their shamyana special kebab is outstanding, chicken breast served with mutton stuffing. the chutney is also unique. end with the sizzling walnut fudge.. yummmm

Kashmir Food to Explore

I was looking for Some Kashmir authentic food with my wife on last weekend near dal lake,unfortunately I saw shayamana restaurants with Dal Lake Evening view also sun ☀ was going to set was Too good. Had some of Rista,Rice and Gushtaba are cooked in Kashmiri style and authentic wazwan experience staff was also good and attentantive sorry to not remember names.Really suggested to visit if you are looking for Kashmiri cuisine. Thanks Team Keep it up !!!

Excellent ambience and food

We had wonderful lunch with good taste. This place is very clean and cozy. The staff here are very good and kind. One of the waiters gave us good recommendations about dishes as well as portion appropriately, which limits our spending also. I strongly recommend this restaurant in this area. This place is better than Google photos.

Horrible experience, Rotten Food and unprofessional Behaviour of Staff.

Had visited the restaurant on 26th April 2022 for Iftaar with friends . Choosing shamyana as on option over other good restaurants in valley was horrible and big mistake. We decided to have wazwaan for our iftaar meal and ordered the same from the menu with almost all 5 main cuisine from wazwaan menu. To our surprise all the dishes we ordered were served in a one go even the Gustaba were put on our table before serving the rice to the plates which should not be the case. Then we started to have our food as per the individual serving and everything was going good till the time we start having the Gustaba and to our surprise when we tasted the same it was stinking and was rotten from inside. Immediately we called the Resturant server and asked him to check the same and he picked back the same from the table and nothing is being informed to us, we waited for long and no one came back to us to address the issue and in the meantime other person came and started to clear the plates with rice on it from our table without asking or clarification about the issue we had with the dish. Then we called the restaurant manager to enquire about the matter and he also acknowledged that the same was stinking and was clueless. Again to our surprise the restaurant manager told us that they had cancelled the dish of their own without checking or informing the client . This was very unprofessional act of said manger and spoiled all the good mood and we left the place with paying full bill for the rotten food we had. Unfortunately the so called good restaurant in valley are not maintaining the quality standards of the food.

Worst food ever…Terrible experience

On 26th April , I along with my friends had dinner and to our surprise rotten meat with pathetic smell was served and when we called f&b service people and the manager, we were simply told that it happens sometimes and the same will not be charged. This reply was shocking to us and now we doubt quality of food being served on routine basis… Since, the restaurant is situated in boulevard rare which is famous amount tourists. Hence, strongly recommend not to visit this place…. This restaurant is a disgrace to hospitality sector of Kashmir.

Lovely evening for coffee and dessert

Samyana Restaurant on the banks of Srinagar's Dal Lake is a fun and beautiful place. Where there is a nice cafeteria with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Inside the cafeteria, different types of desserts, shakes, moitos and various nice cafeteria dishes like hot chocolate, coffee are served very nicely. The cafeteria is very beautiful in terms of appearance, cleanliness is eye catching. Also the service provided by the employees makes a noticeable impact. A great place to spend an evening on the banks of Dal Lake for visitors to Kashmir...

Shamyana is not upto expectations

Its my first visit in Srinagar. I love to eat good food. In curiosity I started searching good places to eat and I found shamyana on many websites with good ratings. So obviously after visiting various tourist attractions I reached shamyana to eat delicious kebabs and other kashmiri cousine with full expectations but unfortunately no galti no shami kebab. But more heart breaking was that whatever we ordered they are below normal in prepration. So not recommended. Not for food lovers. Value of money zerooo.

We ordered for Wazwan (tabak, Gostaba and roganjosh). Tabak was sweved cold ... it was more like tanned leather than a piece of lamb. Gostaba and Roganjosh did not make us feel excited with respet to what we read in reviews for this hote. Will sugeest to avoid this restaurant.

Delicious food and good service

Delicious food - one of the best in Srinagar. We ate at this place 3 times during our stay in Srinagar. The service is a bit slow but this is understandable as the restaurant was full with eager diners wanting to find a table. The kashmiri dishes were outstanding.

Good food good Ambience

Having lunch here was a memorable experience! Aashana, Shashi,Parneet kaur and Chef Ram took excellent care of us, guiding us through a delicious selection of dishes like Laal Maas, grilled fish, and mixed vegetables. The kids especially loved the burgers and pasta. Thank you to the entire hospitality team for making it special. A must-visit spot for food lovers and anyone who appreciates great ambiance!

Yummy, would recommend

Lovely food. Huge portions. You can share the mutton Briyani with 2 ppl. And I had the malai kofta (potato & cashew sauce type thing?) so good! And palak paneer has always been my favourite dish, and this restaurant didn’t disappoint.

Sumptuous food but not Authentic

During my official trip for Pashminas in November 2022 me and 2 of my colleagues visited this Restaurant coz we were staying at Hotel Duke. We ordered Chicken soup which was absolutely delicious, then we ordered Grilled Trout which was delicious too, also we had ordered Kashmiri Pulao which was not at all tasty. The ambience is good and staff well behaved. Overall a good experience but while in Srinagar would suggest Travellers to try this restaurant at least once.

Makes Srinagar worth visiting

I came here for classical Indian/Kashmiri food and was not disappointed!! Firstly, the Mutton Keenan is one of the best I’ve Ever had-and I’m from Lucknow. The butter chicken (boneless), was flavorful and tender. To top it off, the servers were welcoming and efficient. I will be back.

Must Visit for an eclectic spread!

We went for lunch. We ordered rice, garlic naan, bhuna gosth, Shahi paneer, chicken butter masala and daal. The taste of each and every dish was superlative and quantity was good. This restaurant is opposite Dal Lake and next to hotel The Vintage. This place is a must visit.

I had an outstanding dining experience a thanks to our waiter kursheed bhai His warm welcome, deep menu knowledge, and impeccable service made our meal unforgettable. He was attentive without being intrusive, remembered our preferences, and ensured everything was perfect kursheed truly exemplifies excellent hospitality.
