I visited Srinagar for the first time and wanted to experience authentic Kashmiri cuisine and local experience. I was told that this restaurant serves the best wazwan and went there for dinner. The place was somewhat full. First, the waiter tried to offer me a...table in the back room, which was hidden away and empty, even though there were tables available in the main room. The ambience was mediocre and the food took a long time to get there. I wanted to document my visit to the place and took a couple of pictures. Soon, 3-4 men walked up to me along with the owner/manager and rudely asked me if I was taking pictures of women sitting on the opposite side of the room. I told them of course not. They demanded to see my phone. Even though legally I had the right not to show it to them, I did not want to make an issue out of it and showed them that I had only taken pictures of the ceiling (attached below). Even while I was waiting for the food, and even after while I was eating, random people tried to seat themselves at my table as if it was a community table. The food itself was a large portion, but did not taste good and was undercooked. Needless to say, my experience was quite forgettable. I frequent Delhi and Mumbai, and the 'mughlai' cuisine found there is far better.More

Kashmiri dishes are available, round round meat koftas were there in different type of curries . We ordered half of the plate for 4 , could not even ate that half. Not so great cuisine for Punjabis . Nothing in the restaurant impressed us.

Good authentic kashmiri food, enthusiastic staff and provide good recommendations. Not premium but a nice place and frequented by locals also.

Great chicken dishes , however no sweet desserts were available.surprisingly the roti / chapatis were of maida . The place is on first floor .

Mughal Darbar is among the most popular restaurants in Srinagar. The restaurant has a huge seating capacity and sufficient servers to cater to guests. The interiors are not fancy. We ordered the traditional Kashmiri wazwaan and were not disappointed with the taste and quality of...food. Loved the goshtaba and haaq. Definite choice for tourists. 👍More

Would rate the place 3 on 5. I ordered a quarter of Wazwan and egg curry. Firstly after 1/2 an hour I was informed that the egg curry is over. So had to them order Dum alu with roti. My reasons for an average rating:...1. Dum Aloo was too oily. Not much taste 2. Rogan josh was uncooked 3. Not a clean place. May be my standards are high. 4. The fried mutton piece was uncooked 5. The time to get the food was a lot I tried to justify the quarter Wazwan but I would recommend that quarter of Wazwan is good for two ppl. For one person it is too much. So one can surely try this place but nothing out of the world.More

I, my wife and my parents had come to this restaurant after my wife saw the online ratings on this restaurant. Oh my god!! The food was probably the worse food I've ever eaten in life. The mutton was like plastic. Food was nice and...cold. It was probably cooked and kept below the stove for a few hours before being served to me. A day before this delightful meal, the driver took us to Sonmarg. I wandered aimlessly around that place before settling infront of a shop that had a few boiling pots at the front. I just walked in and ordered Rogan Josh and two roti. I don't even know the name of that small shop but the food was truly heavenly. I truly regretted coming to this Mughal Darbar. I should have just gone to any of the many ordinary shops serving Wazwan and I'm sure that I'd have been properly taken care of. I don't want to get started on the service either. Just please make sure that you don't make mistakes like me and instead, go to a good shop that will appreciate your patronage. I did not take any pictures to post as it just wasn't worth it. Too gross. Just too ridiculously gross.More
