The first floor one was told to mr by a local to be original. Food was good and so ea the service. Chicken kanti was very good along with the butter naan . Mutton roghan josh wasn't too great , was watery and too mild...in taste .,should have gone for the Mirchi karma..Chicken biryani was quite good ..tabak maaz we had for the first time and it wasn't too bad I guess .More

If you want to experience something beyond my title than read on.... Tabak mas- the local cuisine King - was kept kept fried and refried, this dish should melt in your mouth, but was more chewy than a chewing gum, The seekh kebab could not...be cut even with a knife, the minced balls in the Rista tasted like a mix of stale left over different meats, The rogan gosh only bones no meat in a surprisingly brown sauce - Rogan is a rich kashmiri deep red sauce ..., didn't have the courage to ask my vegetarian friends about thier experience. If you are still keen to explore more than this than certainly worth a visit.More

Specifically went there to try their wazwan. 1/4 size ismore than enough for 2 people, actually 3 people can eat in the same, if you order extra roti and rice. It has huge portions and it is an absolute value for money. May it be...kebabas, ghostaba, ristaa or rogan josh, all of them are lip smacking and amazing. It is their local flavors and i will suggest, only a real foodie who is always open and appreciative about all cuisines should try it.More

Its a normal looking restaurant, nothing lavish. Its also most preferred by locals, so I assume that its also most authentic. Staff is very helpful in selection of menu. If you are a group of 4 or more, specially non-vegetarian, for Wazwan Tarami (half or...full) ... its full Kashmir Cuisine on a platter. Must visit place in Srinagar.More

Non Vegetarian food quality BAD, mutton tough to eat in fact required knife to cut through the kebabs. Service very poor. Most taxis and rental cars take unsuspecting tourists to this place for obvious reasons Would NOT recommend this place for good dining..

Good value for money - we had a half wazwan and polished off every bit on the plate. After having had wazwan for quite a few days, we ended up at Mughal Darbar on the last day. The experience of eating the Wazwan in an...old restaurant was quite an experience.More

We had Kashmiri wazwan as we read a lot about it. However, we didn’t like it much because the meat was too hard to chew. The meat was not juicy and hard like rubber making it difficult to eat.

Dropped in on the first day of ours in Srinagar. Visited the place with mom, wife and kids. Had to try the Kashmiri Wazwan... Basically for those who don't know... Wazwan is a complete meal... In other parts of India we refer to it as...a thali in vegetarian circles or buffet for one if you please.. so this basically a meal consisting of about multiple dishes and is for 1 person apparently. Kashmiri's love their rice. When it comes to meals its predominantly rice. So to begin with the Wazwan… To start with we got this mountain of rice on a dish and it was covered with seekh kebabs, Methi Maaz (lamb intestines), Tabakh Maaz (lamb ribs), grilled or fried chicken in 2 different marinades, Rista (meatballs) in a tomato based gravy and Gushtaba in a yoghurt based gravy, Rogan Josh. The ladies and kids did not fancy the meal much. Lets say the food had a very distinct flavour, and that’s all because of the excessive use of lamb fat in the food. The sheep or lamb whatever you want call them in Kashmir are a very heavy lot and have very very fatty meat. Kashmiri’s love the fat in their food and it seems to be a major part of all their non vegetarian dishes. I had to order some of the vegetarian stuff for the kids and the ladies. All in all wasn’t very impressed with the food. They do a few dishes very nicely but won't say its a Must Visit if you are in the city.More
