About
Established in 1997, The Johnson’s Cafe is the first trout speciality restaurant in the country. Our all day menu showcases a variety of dishes ranging from succulent lamb, pork and vegetarian preparations to freshly prepared thin crust pizzas straight from our very own wood fired oven. The idea behind the restaurant – which is a culmination of a family effort, is to create the atmosphere of being welcomed into the Johnson’s home.

Probably the top hangout joint in Manali. Decent music .... live on weekends. Ambiance and crowd also good. Food better than the rest....can be rated the top two food joints. Alcohol choice average, especially for whiskey drinkers. Must visit in Manali for lunch or dinner.

Meat lovers, the pizza is for you if you love italian! A glass of mulled wine goes really well with the fine ambience and great hospitality.

An amazing place which shines like a diamond in a coal mine. Don’t go by location bang in the middle of Manali. Once inside the gates you don’t realise you are in centre of a touristy circus of a town. The company of lively and...sociable owner and the interesting conversations on practically everything under the sun we had with her made us forget time. Truly wonderful and happy culmination of a beautiful trip to a beautiful placeMore

Good place to have a bite. Good quality coffee. You can visit it. Not crowed. A bit expensive though.

What a disappointment! After a waiter dismissed me by telling me there's no place for the next 1.5 hrs, I went and stood at the bar/counter and there was a "manager-looking" person right in front of me, simply ignored my presence. Finally, I had to...almost holler to which he looked up. When I said how about a table, even if it is in 1.5 hours, he said the place is a first-come-first-serve, and he continued to do his billing thing. We left. No manners, no courtesy, no shame.... Well, The Johnson's Cafe, you can never match up to the class of a street side eatery in Mumbai or Pune, or Bangalore, because you may pump money to make your place look fancy, but you have no etiquette, no class....More

Well run, fun and comfortable. Nice Bavarian feel. Great restaurant. The only thing that would make it better would be a breakfast menu.

Better ambiance compared to most places in Manali. The food is just alright. Trout seemed overhyped, Apple crumble had some, crumble and ice cream all served at three different corners. The service is not too great either, you have to wait your wits till you...are attended to. Anyway, worth one visit but not the fasadMore

We visited this cafe for dinner. It is walkable from the mall road, 1km. The restaurant offered fantastic Italian food and live music. Although it is on a higher side from the rate point of view, but taste is fine. Dining is spacious, service is...good. During winter, prefer a table near fire place.More
