Its a beautiful lodge to stay in Old Manali I have stayed here on two occasions (friends and as couple) and from teh first visit to now the place has changes completely. They have options to stay in wodden cottages and the normal concrete rooms....The new concrete building is equipped with TV set which is not there in wodden rooms. They have a garden restaurant and a cosy dining area for various food and snacks prepared by their chef. Overall a nice place to stayMore

Do not stay at this guest house!!! My partner and I just left, there Management was so unhelpful and rude from the beginning ( he said his name was Louise ) and he or someone had tried to brake into our room twice when I...was in there by myself and who knows how ever many times when we were out. We were the only guests staying and he was the only person who was ever around. We confronted the manager and response was oh okay with no concern at all. He then refused to talk to us and even look at us. I wouldn't recommend staying here look else where we ended up staying at drifters which was a far better optionMore

We arrived a 4am and checked in. They initially tried to charge us 700 rupees. They eventually settled on 400 rupees. At 9am, we went to sort out the documentation. One of our party had lost their passport but did not have a copy of...their visa. They immediately threatened us with the police and told us to leave. After saying that we would call the police ourselves, they gave us some of our money back. We were very polite and not argumentative in the slightest. I think that they saw a chance to keep our money and became very aggressive. Just down the path we found another guest house and had no problems. Very disappointed with Lonely Planet for this listing.More

The rooms are over-priced. The 'low budget ' ones (400 rupees) has no tv, no wifi and no towls, you can get better rooms (tv, wifi etc.) for cheaper price (300-350 rupees) just across the street. The staff is just terrible. Lazy, not caring and...VERY VERY rude !!!! They wanted to charge us for an extra night for a one hour delay after check out time. And thretend us that they will call the police if we dont pay the price they asked for. Even after we paid and gave back the keys! The manager was extremly rude, aggresive and disgusting !!!! The general feeling was that they are making us a favor by leting us stay there!More

This place is pretty lame. I saw it in the lonely planet and because it was a top choice, figured I would stay here on my stop over to Dharamsala from Leh. The first two nights I took a pretty pricey room (for me)- 500...rupees for my own bathroom. The room was pretty comfortable and definitely had some great character- the porches are pretty sweet too. However, the staff are so lame! That's the best way I can describe them. When I first showed up, the boy at the front desk was really inattentive and a bit rude. Then I went to get some food from the restaurant, and when I walked in the two people lying on the couche did not even move. I asked to see a menu and ordered something off of it, which they then said they didn't have, or more precisely, that it's "not possible." I then ordered something else, to which the reply was "not possible." I asked what they did have and they just said beverages. It was a bizarre exchange. The third morning I went to get a bus ticket and apparently the bus was all sold out. But when I asked the manager about the local bus and pulled out my guide book, he laughed and said that it didn't exist and then thrust the phone at me and told me to call. After struggling to have a conversation with the person on the phone from the public bus company, I found out there was indeed a local bus. I also called the private bus company, and they told me that there was a bus leaving in the evening (with no mention that it was sold out), but the manager insisted there were no seats left...hmmm...a bit sketchy. I figured it would cost me the same amount to hop in a rickshaw and go down to new manali twice (round trip easily 400) so I just bought a ticket for the morning bus and stayed in their cheapeast room...Which is okay. There are so many awesome places to stay in this area, so don't be fooled by lonely planet!More

I had a large sum of money stolen while staying here. When I brought this up with the owner (or manager) he was extremely rude and aggressive. Other travelers had similarly unpleasant exchanges with the manager. There are a huge number of good options in...Manali do not let it's mention in the lonely planet sway you into staying here.More
