This place serves nice south Indian food..and the owner kranthi is a wonderful host...he is so enthusiastic and always running to be at ur service.u might have to wait for food if the place is crowded.

Me and my wife showed up here for lunch and we ate gun powder masala dosa and onion uthappam. The taste was soo good and especially the chutney and sambar was awesome. At last we found a place in up here in the hill who...knows how to prepare samabar😁More

If you're looking for amazing South Indian food in Manali this place is it!! I live in Pondicherry so I'm used to South Indian food. This restaurant ticks all the boxes. The Samba and Coconut chutney are great, dosa, idli etc are also very good....I recommend! The service is a little slow but worth the wait. Over the few years I’ve grown extremely fond of the south Indian cuisine (apart from Idli, Dosa). So, when we came to Manali and my brother saw that there was a restaurant by the name Southern Souls which had the best rating, he insisted that...we visited the place. To have the highest rating or recommendation, one would think of a cafe to be high end and flamboyant, so did I, but to my surprise the place was just the opposite, as close to roots and nature as it can be. After few minutes of waiting, we were told that they were sold out but the owner, who is so humble to call himself a waiter, told us that he’ll not let us go empty stomach. We took whatever he could provide us and just kept on craving for more, Kranthi ji and his wife fed us more than we could eat but we were still left craving for more so we decided to come back pretty soon. Every South Indian dish on the menu is a must try. The hotel has beaten good five star hotels in not only Manali, not only Kullu or Shimla, but the whole state of Himachal to be a top rated restaurant, mind you not a top rated south Indian restaurant but a #1 restaurant across all cuisines. When in manali if you miss home food of Kerala must try the food in Southern souls cafe located near to hadimba temple. Hospitality of kranthi was awesome. Food tastes very good. We had upma, idly, dosa and lemon rice from here and each dish...was excellent. They don't have parcel service but that is also positive because they ensure to provide hot food.More

Being a South Indian it is hard to find authentic South Indian dishes in Himachal. Eventhough I loved the North Indian food and himachali dishes like Siddu, the malayali me was missing the genuine flavours of dosa and Sambar. This cafe helped me in refreshing...my taste buds. We ordered masala dosa and idli. The dishes had the perfect south indian flavours which made us order more. We tried lemon rice and upma too which were as we expected them to be. The hosts were truly hospitable and concerned about your experience. Thank you Kranthi and family for such a nice experience. I would say this is my absolute favourite south indian cafe in Manali. When I visited and ordered the #MasalaDosa, I have no words how can I explain the mouthwatering taste. So hot very nice and crispy texture, it's masala tasted so good so good that this kind of Masala Dosa I had never ated in my entire life. We ordered their special #GunPowder dosa. Oh man what a beauty it was so tasty and tangy and light spicy, also their #CoconutChutney and #Sambhar so tasty mouth tempting. We also tried their #IdliSambhar, literally I had never ated so much soft #Idly the taste, size all were very very well. In the end I would say that if any one is coming #Manali must visit #SouthernSouls as it's defines it's ne very well it's just few steps away from famous #HidimbaTemple and if u want to enjoy your mouth watering food in between the nature this is the place It was a #Wow experience hats off.
