We used to visit the monk when it was opened in the hotel Galaxy Gurgaon. It was closed for 4-5 years now. Recently, I saw it opened again in 32 Avenue Gurgaon, I visited it last 3 days back. The menu is by and large,...similar to the previous one, with fewer choices. My favorite dish stir-fried kalamari is not on the menu. There are no printed menu, scan a qr code with mobile to see the menu & order. Since we opted for vegetarian food, we can't comment on non vegetarian food. We ordered burnt garlic soup, which was delicious. Pakchoy, asparagus, corn dimsums, they were ok. Teppan style udon noodles with asparagus, bamboo shoots, etc, it was good. Singapore rice noodles with vegetables were too dry & bland. So the chef provided an extra bowl of black bean sauce to mix with it. Sticky rice with seasonal vegetables in black bean sauce was also good. Overall, the experience was nice but not as good as the previous version of The Monk. Also, the decor here is a bit on dull side. So I'll recommend it for good food but not a place to celebrate.More

The Monk is one of the best places in Gurgaon for Chinese food. Their service is quick and the portion sizes are good. The prices are a little high and sometimes there can be a long wait for a table since they do not book tables...post 8 Pm but the wait is worth it.More

We have been a regular at Monk for the last 13 years but sadly the food quality has become horrendous! The Veggies were absolutely under cooked, mushrooms were stale and leathery and sauce tasteless. If one were to ignore the dead decor, food is a...big put off now. Had a similar experience a year and it took us that long to try Monk food again. Never going to waste time and money again there.More

Went to this restaurant after a very long time for old time sake and for sure this place has lost its touch especially with quality of food . The condition of the restaurant is really deteriorating and needs a complete makeover. The place smells damp...and musty . Both service and food is very average. They really need to do drastic changes if they want to survive in tough gurgaon food and beverage scene. For sure I will not be going to Monk againMore

Was here with friends for our usual fare. Great dishes almost like the Claypots. My preference is Chicken or Yellow Thai curry. Food is excellent as ever and good thing is uniform taste even oif you come after months. I did note that prices have...increased since my last visit.More

It was the perfect place for lunch as the dishes were delicious, of right portion and we also got to taste their locally brewed beer along with the food. The ambience and service were great too. True value for money.

The restaurant is an interesting open one on the first floor of a hotel - just demarcated by wooden poles and bamboo screens - a nice airy-fairy place. The kitchen is open and there are tables for "out-side" seating. They serve food from many South-East Asian...countries, but mostly from China. Their Chinese food is very different from the usual "Chinese" food at most restaurants - though I am not sure if they are authentic - lighter and more flavoursome. The Dim-sum baskets are a good way to taste a variety of different types - the Crystal ones were really good, both Chicken and Prawn. They have toned down some of the traditional heat in dishes like Rendang and Laska - would have liked them traditional(with a warning chiilie sign, maybe). If you fancy desserts, they have very interesting ones and coconut lovers will definitely like the Coconut Caramel ice cream. One major problem with visiting this restaurant is - you HAVE to make a reservation. Its small and always full.More

Monk located in Hotel Galaxy complex is one of the few authentic Chinese cusine in Gurugram, as city has been renamed. Excellent service incl open kithcen complements the food quality. Must try is the beer from micro brewery, with cricket terminology name.

We went there for family dinner and the experience was better than expected. The menu is very good, the staff is courteous, the food tastes yum and the ambience is very nice too. They don’t use ajinomoto which is a very good thing. We also...ordered sea food dishes and they tasted just right. One very good part is that despite being so conveniently located, parking is so easily available. The live piano music playing in the background makes the evening really delightful.More

Visited The Monk after a very long time, was one of my fav food joints. Taste is same, thought I didn’t get the much love stir fried fish and v gets led in burnt garlic and human sauce, but the one they served was good...too. Also my fav “bowl of wheat noodles in chicken soup” was piping hot and was very satisfying. I think I will revisit this often now.More
