My wife and I spent 4 evenings here, out of a two week stay and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We had excellent food, ranging from fillet steak, curry to kekabs and they were all fabulous. Great atmosphere and excellent service, whilst being good value for...money! We'll be back next year, fingers crossed!More
Great Curry, I had a spicy chicken curry, husband had a rogan gosht, both nice and the service great too there wa live music on the night that we went. The restaurant seems to be attached to a hotel where we previously watched the football...at the weekend, downstairs , and my husband had an Afghani kebab and I a Goan dish called Chicken Xacuti, it was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant.More
In previous years we always went to Angaara when we wanted more refined Indian food without going to a five star hotel, and we followed this tradition during our last visit to Goa. They also do good Western food but we never tried it.
As...usual, I couldn't resist their tiger prawns. I had them tandoori style, and they certainly did not disappoint - juicy, large, fresh, beautifully marinated and cooked in the tandoor. I chose chips and salad as sides, I don't often have chips but these were rather nice. There are also a few wines available by the glass, and the Fratelli Sauvignon Blanc is one of the better Indian labels to try - fruity and dry.
My veggie partner had aloo gobi, and a vegetable vindaloo especially prepared for him which he declared one of the better ones. Of course I had to taste his dishes, and agreed.
One of the joys of this restaurant is the fact that they offer 'proper' desserts beyond the usual pancakes and icecreams. We had coconut panna cotta and a creme brulée. Both were delightfully yummy, leaving you wanting more.
Service, as usual, was excellent, these are trained waiters, and service is friendly and professional. Our meal was about INR3000 before tip, but would have been substantially less without the tiger prowns. But they are just too delicious...More
Great Food for lunch or dinner, the steak was the best we had in candolim, great service nothing to much trouble for the staff, the atmosphere is good and an added bonus you can book a table should you wish to watch your favourite sport.
Looked at trip advisor and they were so right, the most amazing prawn masala I have ever tasted and beautiful garlic naan breads. Would definitely recommend this place, a tuk tuk ride from the O Hotel but well worth the 150r ride.
Just went to the Angaara on our first night - pretty much in line with everyone else. The staff are friendly and helpful, there was cricket playing but very quietly. The beer could maybe have been a bit colder _ Kingfisher - but the food...was fine (we had fish skewers and fish pasta) and all for 15 quid so what’s not to like? Yes, smoking is allowed but it didn’t affect us....More
Stayed at the Silver sands sunshine, which is attached to this wonderful restaurant. All the staff are fantastic, friendly, fun loving people. Nothing is too much trouble, the food was gorgeous. I ate at the bar,in the restaurant, & also under cover,no shortage of options,...which was great when travelling solo.Very highly recommended, thank you all,see you nxt Feb xxxMore
