THE best place to eat and have fun in Port Blair. The view of the blue waters visible from the restaurant is mind-blowing. As if things couldn’t get any better, the food and drinks were to die for. We ordered chilli garlic prawns and Amritsari Fish Tikka for starters, and they were awesome. Mr. Anup, from the restaurant, was very helpful and suggested which food to eat and made the experience memorable. We then ordered pasta and sizzler’s for main course and chocolate soufflé for dessert. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we would love to visit again

Amaya, like Bonova is a restaurant linked to the Seashell resort. To reach the restaurant the tuk-tuk had to drive up quite a narrow, steep hill which is relatively quiet, so it can be tricky to get one back
Service: excellent and attentive, clear descriptions of food and waiters happy to take photos for us
Drinks: mojito was very good with sugar crystals whilst they traded the whisky in my apple Jack to gin and that was delicious. Had diet drinks on the menu but was not available
Food: the menu appeared more of a tapas style dining than sit down three-course. the akbari roll was a real treat, a roti wrap with cooked vegetables and paneer in sauce with decent portions that would have been enough for one person as a main on its own. The chicken satay with garlic dip was also delicious and well marinated but the prawn popcorn was a little too dry. The sizzling chocolate sponge with chocolate ice cream was a super end to the meal
Vibe: great setting high up with beautiful night views, classy decor with sport on televisions gives this place a bar feeling rather than top restaurant. There was great background music which got better when the live singing happened at eight.
Value: reasonable prices for the quality of food. Our bill came to R3120 which wasn’t bad at all as it included cocktails

This was the most awesome experience we had on our last day in Andamans. The rooftop ambience of the Amaya was very serene with lilting live music and delicious food , the menu is just right for those who want to spend a lazy night under the sky with a drink. We were 8 of us and very well looked after by Saurabh , who guided us through the full dinner with suggestions for drinks n food. A complementary caramel custard to celebrate our last day was very thoughtful gesture by the Sea Shell Hotel manager . A personal thanks to him too.

This place was suggested to me by the cab driver.
I went to the roof top restaurant, the ambiance is good but its quite warm at the evening time and you start to feel sweaty.
But the main issue is the food is extremely priced high for the quantity and ambiance they serve.
Rest it is a fine place with mixed experience with food taste, like few food items were good and few were very bad.

After seeing some good reviews i thought to visit this restaurant with family for lunch. We were told that AMAYA is a rooftop rest.on 3rd floor. We ordered food and drinks. The first table we were about to sit was full on red ants so we changed it on our own, waiters response was that being on rooftop and open ants come.(I GIGGLED INSIDE). chicken hunan was ordered and as we were about to finish that meal my daughter suddenly screamed at me saying theirs a fly in her mouth and i told her to keep it on plate and immediately i told waiter that there was fly in her mouth. This time waiter was someone else and his response was open area sir so thats why flies can be seen. I said shift us to the basement restaurant despite our food getting colder we shifted ourselves. When the next order arrived it had a hair on top of it. Patiently we ate our food and asked for the bill. When the bill came i told the waiter to deduct chicken hunan charges only reason being it has fly cooked in it. Waiter called up another waiter i told the same story then the third waiter came same story finally getting screwed up i told them to bring manager and manager came and wanted to know the reason of deduction. After explaining him and with some verbal lessons the manager agreed to deduct the charges. I request the management to look into the staff. Getting into unnecessary arguments with customers is bad. The question was not of 550 rs, its how u build up relations. Never ever i can recommend this place after such a horrific experience

Thank you for choosing to dine with us and for taking the time out to share your feedback. We are deeply concerned to read the feedback and regret the inconvenience caused during your meal period. I would like to assure you and for the benefit of all the Trip Advisor members who will be reading this that we take genuine feedbacks in a positive and constructive way as it helps us to better our services. I request your prudence in this matter.
You came for lunch and ordered your meal. After the starters were consumed completely and there was none left on the serving plate, our steward came to clear the plates. None of our staff there heard anyone scream nor did you call our staff. It was only when the steward came to clear the plates he was shown the object in question, which was kept on the side plate. The object was not in the food that was served. Our staff apologized immediately. After that you told our staff that since it is hot here, you would like to shift to the AC restaurant that you had seen before you came to Amaya. Immediately your table was shifted to the restaurant and all your food and beverages was served there piping hot. None of our staff recollect being contacted about hair in the food or food being served cold. As the foreign object was not in the food and the dish was consumed completely, the item was not removed from the bill. However, you then asked for the manager and insisted that the starter be removed from the bill, we honoured your request and the menu item was removed from the bill so that you are satisfied.
We are very surprised that despite honouring your request so that you are happy, even though we were not at fault, this review was posted. We do hope you will provide us with another opportunity to serve to ensure you go back with happy memories. We look forward to welcoming you back at Amaya and please do let us know whenever your next visit is planned.

We visited this place on our last night in the Andamans. It was a perfect way to conclude our holiday!
This is a rooftop restaurant, which has class and character. Comfortable lounge seating, elegant decor and soothing live music, are the perfect blend to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for your evening out.
The food is very good, and the staff are very friendly and helpful
After an idyllic few days spent in the lap of nature, with very few modern amenities and comforts, this place is really worth a look in if you want to live it up a bit before heading home! :-)

We went there following TripAdvisor's rating but were completely disappointed with the service and food quality. We ordered assorted veg and non-veg satay platter, which was waste of money. Chicken was chewy and had no flavour. We could not distinguish between fish and chicken. Service was slow as well, had to call waiters multiple times to take order and then bring the bill. The ambience was wonderful though for the price we paid, food should have been good as well. Will not go there next time.

Amaya is a beautiful roof top bar in the most popular area of Port Blair. It has the prettiest view of North Bay and the nicest staff. In our four days at Port Blair, my husband and I visited Amaya all four nights even though we were not staying at Seashell.
The drinks are moderately priced but worth their penny. I would recommend all their cocktails honestly.
The food is great too, though I wish they would expand their menu to include more options.
Live music by is such a turn on with the view and vibe, creating a great holiday mood! The only downside is the 10 pm last order (though most places in Port Blair shut early), but that could be COVID protocol — I’m not so sure.
The manager Mr Subbiah is a warm, wonderful person who we befriended during our trip and he took utmost care of us. The GM Mr Parvez is also very jovial and friendly and made us feel at home with his pleasant conversations and true-to-oneself nature. A special shout-out to Rakesh ji, who waited on us while we were there.
All in all — please do visit for a great kick start to your vacation!

After our research we narrowed down to Amaya rooftop restaurant as one of the best restaurants to be in portblair for our dinner.
It was our first day of visit in Andaman and unfortunately it was a very humid and muggy day and after our outing in Aberdeen market we were exhausted and only wanted a nice place to relax and unwind and we chose Amaya-seashell.
On reaching the venue,we found out the ambience was all donned up but unfortunately the weather playing it's part and improper placement of table fan made it very uncomfortable for us, our 2 kids and 3 senior citizens .
With the timely intervention of the manager- Mr.Subbaiah who sensed our discomfort and immediately shifted us to their indoor A.C restaurant preventing our first day being a complete disaster.We are very thankful for his gesture.
Not to forget, the food was awesome, we ordered seafood platter which comprised of local sea fish,squid,crab.

We had the best food of our Andaman trip in Amaya. With terrace seating and ocean in the backdrop the ambience is wonderful. Heartfelt appreciation to Mr Khalidi who served us memorable seafood. He detailed the menu very patiently and he suggested great food as requested. Always smiling and polite. All in all good food, better ambience and great hospitality!!

We were there for short lunch. The Andaman fish curry and cocktails really impressed us. Ambience, taste, staff service by Sultan and Subhash was great. Tried other high ranking restaurants like Ananda, Icy Spicy, The Hub, ITC Welcome etc. They were all disappointing

Nice ambience with nice food and hosts. Sourav is nice host and very friendly he also suggest preparations according to guests taste while interacting with them. Overall it's a wonderful experience to be at amaya. Will come again and also recommend others to visit.

I visited here for a dinner with my family. I tried Loster butte garlic and Fish achari which was great in taste and hygiene followed in a proper manner. Saurabh was there to help in selection of dishes, he was really a helpful guy. The only drawback is excessive price. One should visit here only if they bother quality and not bothered to pay any amount for it. In my opinion liquors and food can easily available at less than 30% price in equally good restro anywhere.

Our wonderful, peaceful holiday at A&N was marred by the experience at this place.
The rude behavior and attitude of the staff was appaling. My wife and I visited this place in the evening, but we were refused service. Reason being, no tables available and you will have to share with another couple.
When in reality there were at least four free tables and when I pointed it out the response I got was 'you will not be served'.
Que entry of a bunch of foreigners and they were immediately ushered to one of the free tables.
That's when we understood why we were refused - we weren't white! Shocked that I faced racism in my own country. When I asked for the manager, the person just scoffed at me and said you will still not be served.

You arrived on a Saturday evening around 1900 hrs and requested for a table. The roof-top lounge was full as that time. The staff requested that you may sit along the bar counter and as soon as a table will be vacant, you will be shifted. Bar stools were there for you to sit, like other patrons who were waiting for a table. You then pointed to a table that had a reserved tag on it. The staff politely informed that it was reserved and they will hold the table till 1930 hrs. In-case the guest does not come, the same will be allocated to a guest who has been waiting for a table before your arrival, but also assured you that as soon as table is vacant, you will be seated. While this discussion was happening, the guest who had reserved the table arrived; we confirmed their credentials and seated them.
Mr. Jose, please take note, table reservations are not taken and not allocated by nationality. It could have been reserved by any person of any ethnicity. These allegations are false and baseless. Guest satisfaction and happiness is our top most priority and I would also like to reassure you of both our commitment and standards in this regard. We are sorry to know that you felt otherwise. Had we been given some time, we would have accommodated you and would have ensured that you would have had a memorable time, instead you choose not to do so and post this unsubstantiated and sordid review which does not reflect the way we treat our guests.
We hope all your concerns have been addressed and will provide us with another opportunity to serve to ensure you go back with happy memories. We look forward to welcoming you back at Amaya and please do let us know whenever your next visit is planned.

I went to Amaya with 3 friends at the end of a long day at Andaman, and it was the perfect ending! Our server, Kundan, was very attentive and even helped us secure an auto rickshaw for our ride back to the hotel. Atmosphere was wonderful - incredible views of the island and bay, as well as tasteful and fun live music from Henry. We loved our experience and would recommend to anyone visiting Port Blair!
