This was very surprising although not much from the outside once you get upstairs very roomy clean. The service was very quick great Chinese meal. Price very cheap.

Your average local type menu. Prices average FJ$5-8. They have a lot of ceiling fans and tables, place is clean, and food is decent. worth a stop when you're in a hurry

I love Chong Pong for it's tasty quick chinese meals. No idea how they manage to make them so fast. I did observe a smell of kerosene on all three occasions that I've been there, but considering the cheap and cheerful fare and convenient location in town, I'd go there again!

Try their eggplant dish along with their scrumptious chop suey. The cooks are always willing to accommodate requests so don't be shy and let them know what you do not want in your order. They will even serve you what's not on the menu, like taro or casava with fish cooked in lolo (coconut milk) and bok choy or Chinese... More

Upstairs in an old style open room but what flavors. Absolutely excellent food. I felt like I was transported to the far east in flavors and service. We ate there many times during Hurricane Evan, it made the storm enjoyable and we looke forward to eating there when we return.

Food there tasted pretty good, but when thinking of what part of the chicken I must be eating right now I lost my appetite. Very strange atmosphere too...I was the only customer one afternoon and the lady was blasting music and then she starts screaming in Chinese on Skype while I am reading a book and eating my meal peacefully...wouldn't... Ate at Chong Pong a few times while I was working in northern Fiji. Not the cleanest of eating places. but food was cheap and good and beer was cold. its opposite the town market so its busy at lunchtime but quieter in the evening.

I have had great eating experiences at all other place is Savusavu, - decked out, seaview, oasis the royale, the wok, country kitchen, but thought I should venture up the stairs and try chong pong for a change. The grime was a bit off putting but I decided to try the basic staple of Combo fried rice for my first visit... The... More

Up a long stairway from the main street in Savusavu is the Chong Pong Chinese restaurant - or the Chung Pong (the name on the menus). The framed posters around the walls are probably collectible as they are so old, and that I think is the end of the decor and ambience statement. A small timid Chinese lady behind an... More
