This is an upscale restaurant with a great bar and fabulous craft cocktails. Service was not great or attentive and my husband requested a plate for the burrito platter we got and never received one. The menu says a lot of things are available vegan or vegetarian but the wait staff was confused about what could actually be made vegan. The food was good but the menu should be revised to distinguish what can truly be made vegan.

I visited here on 12/30 without reservation. It was a very popular restaurant recommended by someone during my day tour to Kicker Rock. The interior design of the restaurant is very nice, fashion and welcoming. It also has a nice sea view. If you want a place for a rest/drink, I would recommend here, the cocktail was great. However, about the food, I would say the dishes look beautiful but not that tasty considering the price of food. If you are willing to spend about 100 USD for 2 people for dinner, it will be a good place.

What a great experience we had at Muyu. We were in San Cristobal for 3 days and every day we visited it a couple of times. Be that lunch, coffee, dinner. They have a great location, right by the water, a wonderful outdoor setting by the bar. Sea lions hanging out next to us were amazing to see. Food, service, the atmosphere was all 10+. They have the best decaf americano. We were in awe at every dish that was served the way it was presented. Freshest salads, soups and very innovative desserts. Our server most of the time was a guy named 'Vincent, a lovely gentleman from Italy who showed the highest level of professionalism and friendliness at the same time. We made special dinner reservations for our last night and since my husband has gluten allergies, they made great items from their menu( gluten-free) accommodate him. This place tops it all, highly recommended. We had wonderful experience every single visit.

Perhaps not a bad place to have a drink at their open terrace, because of the nice view, but not because of the food or service :( My octopus sandwich had exactly 3 tiny bits of octopus, a small pearl size each. In reply to my complaint, the waiter just shook his head, but offered no solution. Waited for a desert for exactly 25 minutes. It was good, but grossly overpriced, at $13 plus $3 in taxes, for the minuscule portion spread over a big plate. When I asked for a glass of water, I was brought, some time later a shot glass of water. I asked for more in a bigger glass, but another shot glass was delivered. When I asked for more, the service boy told me that there was no more water. The water brought more. I was so outraged by this grossly overpriced disservice that I asked to talk to the manager. The manager was not available. I described the whole situation to the cashier and asked that the manager contact me and that I fully expect refund for the octopus less sandwich and apologies. The cashier was nice and did say she was sorry. The manager contacted me eventually. And she was so goddamn rude and condescending that made me all the more annoyed. She promised a refund, "explained " to me how that restaurant, located in the most expensive hotel in the whole Ecuador, tries to help environment by saving the precious water resource and making their customers buy bottled water, which they bring by the plane, "contributing" to the environment, and sell at $3/bottle. To refuse to give a glass of potable water, in ECUADOR, is really unheard of and inexcusable. No apologies about the rude bus boy, just a page long explanation about how this restaurant has a foundation to train local people. Some training :( :( The promised refund has not been received. Nor any apologies. The saddest part of this story is that, some years ago, it was a wonderful restaurant. Very expensive, but wonderful - food, service, all of it. . I ate there a few times, in 2017, and then have recommended it to many people. Most probably it was a different restaurant in the same location. NOTHING in common, Will neither visit, nor recommend this restaurant to anybody again. . ATT/ their listed prices do not include 12% VAT and 10% service charge, so add 22% to the listed price.

We have done our best to have a polite communication with you, full of respect in response to your comments about your visit to us in Galapagos. You will remember that when we asked in our first email to you “How can we help you” you replied: “You should help yourself”. We have received nothing but disrespect from you and successive threats, so much so that believe that you have your own specific agenda. Consider for a moment your complaint about our $10 Octopus sandwich, prepared with 100g of octopus slices, that to your taste it did not contain enough octopus. You did not complain to our staff until after you had consumed it, whereas, if you had mentioned it beforehand our chef would have added more octopus to your satisfaction. However, you ate the entire sandwich, only asking afterwards for a refund. Regarding your request for free water, we provide bottled water, available on our menu. Apart from the above you are posting a false information regarding a supposed charge of 10% and taxes. This is not true and if you were to post your electronic receipt, people would see that there was a zero charge. The case of the sandwich is different, you paid $10, made up of $8.93 + 12% taxes. We care a lot about the happiness of our guests, and we do all we can to ensure our costumer satisfaction. But we do consider the content of your unfair complaint, and on public platforms, too to be totally unacceptable. Our staff are all friendly and working hard to satisfy our guests, and we do not accept your unwarranted complaints and the manner that you are doing it.

We had dinner at Muyu on the last night of our Galapagos honeymoon, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. This is the BEST restaurant in San Cristobal. Their food and cocktails are exceptional, especially their Cucumber Gimlet. I've had this cocktail all over the world, and the way they make it at Muyu is special. Our server told us that the mint and cucumber used to make their simple syrup comes from their organic garden, and it definitely tastes like it! I had two, and I rarely order two of the same cocktail. My husband and I had a late lunch so we ordered a light dinner, and wished we had room to try more dishes. I ordered the ceviche, which was mouth-wateringly good, and my husband had a tuna burger which was equally good, especially with the aioli that was served with it. The pandemic hit the Galapagos hard, and Muyu almost didn't survive. We were grateful to be able to support this special restaurant. If you're traveling to San Cristobal, make sure dinner at Muyu is on your itinerary.

Muyu is my favourite restaurant on San Cristobal, Galapagos. I had the chance to eat there and the dining experience was mind-blowing. I am impressed by the design of the restaurant, the style, the taste of the food but especially how they arrange the food. I am a foodie. At Muyu you start your dinner with your eyes. The plates are decorated with edible flowers from their rooftop garden. It looks amazing and you don’t dare to eat your meal as its artwork. I had a sparkling wine which matched the fish as well as the desert. When you are dining you have a beautiful view on the ocean. Its a very romantic ambience so definitely worth trying as a couple or for a special celebration. The service is very professional. The waiters explain in detail what you are going to eat and describe the different flavors in detail. Very attentive to your wishes. Last but not least Muyu is part of the Galapagos foundation and really cares about organic food, a sustainable delivery chain and partners up with local farmers. I definitely recommend eating at Muyu❤️🔥 You won’t regret it.

Pedimos unas picadas y unas bebidas y no pudieron atendernos , es más nos recomendaron otros lugares después de esperar y ver la carta . No lo recomiendo y por el precio hay muchas mejores opciones . We ordered some snacks and drinks and they couldn't serve us, what's more they recommended other places after waiting and seeing the menu. I do not recommend it and for the price there are many better options

The best salad I’ve had since ... I can’t even remember. Delicious variety of vibrant and v v v fresh leaves and herbs, and a delish bright dressing. The rest of the lunch was great too. I’m tempted to deduct a point because their WiFi was down but I suspect it isn’t their fault-it’s probably their cell reception that was the problem.

This restaurant, in a beautiful location overlooking the bay and pointing towards the sunset, had the best food we ate in the Galapagos. It was beautifully presented, with an emphasis of local sources. Each dish was explained by the enthusiastic waiter. He recommended desserts based on our preferences. We had delicious cocktails, but the wine menu looked tempting too. We both had locally fished plates, and were very pleased with our choices. I booked in advance, which proved a good idea as it was busy (and mostly reservation only).

This has to be one of my all time FAVOURITE restaurants. We were on San Cristobal for 4 nights and managed to eat here 4 times. Sometimes just to have the amazing dessert, sometimes for a drink and a snack and sometimes for the 3 courses. The menu was different/unique, all the food was amazing and fresh - I could go on for ages. The staff were attentive and friendly and helpful with recommendations from the menu. The location is great, especially at sunset. If you are on San Cristobal, make sure you go to the restaurant, you won't be disappointed. THANK YOU Muyu.

We’ve been to some posh ponsi restaurants before and normally love but I came away hungry and very annoyed! In fact had to visit a burger bar on way back to hotel. I think what was most annoying I told them the dish was not acceptable and they did not care! 100% mis sold on my dish! I hate complaining and I wouldn’t normally mention but let’s start from the beginning the beer my husband ordered came in an ice bucket with a clearly cold glass my wine came not cold ( or the glass ) I then had to add ice from hubby’s ice bucket to my wine normally i’d accept this ( some things are never perfect ) but let’s mention it as it went down hill from there! My ‘pasta ‘ arrived but actually it was beetroot spirals - fine i’m happy with that but portion size was that of an entrée - listen i don’t eat much but an entree size for a main course and let’s be honest you’re not going to get full on beetroot! I made my feelings known but the waiters just shrugged their shoulders ! My husband Tina for just 10$ was ok ( just ok)

Keep in mind this isnt a life changing meal, but their quality of ingredients and presentation shine brighter than any other restaurant I tried while on the island. While I enjoyed it, some people may not like hearing the sea lions arfing in the distance. The restaurant does a fairly decent job of piping new age techno music over speakers to drown out the sea lions, but the sea lions really do get pretty loud. Our servers were excellent at attending to our needs, explaining the menu in english, and brought out the food at a reasonable pace. I forget our exact cocktails, but I do remember them being quite delicious and well balanced. The brown bread with floral butter and lemongrass oil is simple but satisfying. It hits every mark in what I wanted, especially with how fluffy the inside, but crispy the outside of the bread was. The catch of the day tartare is an excellent choice, especially if its something tasty like the scorpion fish. Full of flavor, balanced with plenty of herbs and that annatto emulsion on the bottom. The cassava crackers are a great pairing as well. The fried scorpion "fish wings" was not exactly what I was expecting, but it was delicious none the less! The breading on the outside was golden brown crisp, the inside was cooked just right, and the fish had plenty of flavor. The fish in pumpkin curry sauce was also pretty good! Granted the coconut cream was doing most of the work, but it felt like I was eating a more regional cuisine? Either way, it had a hearty homemade feel. Easily would recommend this place to anyone wanting a more elegant meal while in San Cristobal.

Beautiful location on the harbour, simple decor and great menu. Option to sit indoors or outdoors. We were lucky to turn up on a quiet night as a reservation is usually required. The staff are welcoming and happy to explain their dishes. The menu is seafood dominated but there are options. We shared a green ceviche for entree, my partner had the seared tuna and I had local fish on a cauliflower puree. Each plate was beautifully presented and the whole experience was very much fine dining. This was the best meal we had on the islands so if you're staying in the area don't miss it!

What an experience and treat it was for our family to dine here on our end of an amazing vacation. We are a family of 4 and were staying at San Christobal for 1 night. After a long day of snorkeling and it being our last night of our vacation, we were really hoping to find a place with good vegan/vegetarian options. We found Muyu here on Trip advisor, after reading the reviews, I called them to inquire about their menu and confirm that they can accommodate our diet. We had the best services and the most yummiest food here. Our kids got a coconut juice and the the gentleman recommended their magic tea to my younger one who was tired. The magic drink just got her back in full energy back, as they made it so theatrical for her, and showed how the color of her drink changes when they added lemon juice, needless to say it captured my kids wildest imagination lol :) We ordered tacos, hummus, jackfruit, el junco, brinjal- carrot. Ended our meal with their passion fruit moose. The attention to detail in making these items and the knowledge the people who were interacting with us, was at par to any fancy restaurant you can imagine. They knew each and every ingredient, they told us how they made sure to use and represent their local produce and local edible flowers in each dish. Their dessert used all parts of the passion fruit, including the white portions inside the fruit. Nothing went to waste in preparing this. As a family we are always aware of the waste and what we consume and hearing how this place and the people here take at most pride in practicing no-waste, local, and sustainability was really added more meaning to our meal. Thank you to the whole team here, thank you for making our meal to be such a wonderful treat!!!!

Honestly, the fried scorpionfish fins blew me away. The meat on this fish is so tender and yet ...firm/together? It was my favorite thing that night for dinner. Lobster was in season while we were in San Cristobal, so we made sure to order the lobster dish.
