Excellent food and deserts - specially the tacos, ceviche, calamars and the fruits with granite desert. Professional and pleasant service too. A wonderful view on the beach and the sea lions. One of our favourite places in the Galapagos!

Fantastic dinner, likely the best I had during my stay in Galapagos. My only regret is that I went there on my last night before going back home; I'd loved to try more dishes from the menu, as each seems to be very carefully crafted...to offer the best taste of the land and the sea. The waiters were very friendly and attentive, and offered recommendations as well as knowledgeable explanation of every dish. I had the catch-of-the-day ceviche, which was fresh and light on taste, and then the yellow-fin tuna in honeyed rice, which had just the hint of sweetness to it and was full of taste, filling and satisfying. Would highly recommend, the location is quiet and almost direct on the beach just on the border of town (the sea lions' noises were blending quite interestingly with the light music playing!).More

It’s a comfortable outdoor area that looks inviting. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. But a good restaurant shouldn’t have wrong things on the menu. I thought I was getting tuna with an octopus sauce and rice and vegetables. What I got was a...small bowl with bits of tuna in a sauce mixed with rice. If there were octopus and vegetables in the bowl I didn’t notice them other than a few raw orange slices of something and some small inedible green leaves. I ate it but it was neither tasty nor satisfying. The meal was overpriced for what was served. Waiters were polite but aloof.More

The restaurant attached to Golden Bay hotel is fab. Seating directly on the water, in a semi secluded spot yet 2 min town.

Really good food. Can't deny that. But took 20minutes to take our order (after the time that we sat down/time of table reserved). 1 hour 15min wait to get main course. Wo

Fancy and pricey, but it served up some great food and drinks in a very beautiful way. The chef is creative with the flavors and it was a big hit. Their mojito was excellent as well.

Honestly, the fried scorpionfish fins blew me away. The meat on this fish is so tender and yet ...firm/together? It was my favorite thing that night for dinner. Lobster was in season while we were in San Cristobal, so we made sure to order the...lobster dish.More

This restaurant is located near the beach. We actually saw a sea lion passing by. Its definitely a high end restaurant. Beautiful presentation of food and great service. They have an interesting menu. They also have happy hour. They do take credit cards. We enjoyed...the drinks. We had a herb based gin cocktail. We loved the octupus sandwich its a must order. The jackfruit was an ok order but beautifully presented.More

Being far away from home we wanted to treat ourselves with the best on Christmas Eve. We booked a table at Muyu and pre-paid the very steep $244 for the the of us for the meals. We were really excited for the experience and the...food itself. We were told to arrive at 7pm so we did and had a cocktail. I told the waiter we have a reservation but no one seemed to know much about it so we felt a but awkward. Around 19:45 we asked if we can sit down on the table as we were starting to be hungry. We were seated on a plain table in a plain room with absolutely zero Christmas feeling. No decoration, nothing. There was a point during our meal when a server asked if everything was good with our starters and we asked him if they could change the French Rap what was playing hard on the speakers. Come on it was Christmas Eve. When we were seated were not asked if we want to order any water or drinks , I had to call a server later to do that. One other heartbreaking fact when you pay this amount money for an experience you would not expect to have cheap paper napkins on the table. They were not even the high quality ones, maybe folded in a fancy way, they were the same triangle cheap ones in a holder, like in the burger place we ate the night before. On their side table we noticed some Santa Hat paper napkins. , but we overheard a conversation from the server that they forgot to put them on the table. After all we were served water and the first step on the menu, a cocktail punch. Then came a 35-40 minutes suspense. We had no idea what is happening there was no food being served. Anyway we waited for the big boom. I booked the table through the hotels sales team via email and I was sent a menu and informed it will be a 5 course dinner. So after the 40 minutes suspense we were served a big wooden plate with many decorative stones etc. on it and 3 tiny bites per person. I thought this is the amuse bouche ( well it was) but it was actually the first 2 courses on the menu. A tiny mini bite of something I don’t remember it was tasteless and a 2cl shot of gaspacho. This was the point we realised this experience has gone wrong. It feels not elegant that you hoover your plate of food in a minute after it was being served because you waited so long already that you are starving. Then after the snacks came the 3rd course the ceviche which tasted good but again we finished it up probably in 2 minutes. We still had hope for the main course, the tuna wellington, I am sorry but it was a dish anyone with two hands could replicate at home. Even the plate itself looked boring, instead of a nice cooked tuna steak inside the patty we found canned like tuna meat. The deserts were presented by the chef I guess, she came personally to explain the idea of it. It was a representation of the islands of the Galapagos in chocolate forms. I worked in Michelin star restaurants in the past 10 years and I believe it is the minimum that the chef should confidently know what is exactly on each item of the desserts. We felt weird even listening to it, she was not confident about some ingredients and anyway we were not happy at all. There was still an infusion to be served but we decided to ask for the bill and leave. We spent $300 + dollars for our Christmas Eve dinner with drinks and had this experience and even worse : we left hungry. I wish we would have opted for something more simple. Money in the bin.More

We had dinner at Muyu on the last night of our Galapagos honeymoon, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. This is the BEST restaurant in San Cristobal. Their food and cocktails are exceptional, especially their Cucumber Gimlet. I've...had this cocktail all over the world, and the way they make it at Muyu is special. Our server told us that the mint and cucumber used to make their simple syrup comes from their organic garden, and it definitely tastes like it! I had two, and I rarely order two of the same cocktail. My husband and I had a late lunch so we ordered a light dinner, and wished we had room to try more dishes. I ordered the ceviche, which was mouth-wateringly good, and my husband had a tuna burger which was equally good, especially with the aioli that was served with it. The pandemic hit the Galapagos hard, and Muyu almost didn't survive. We were grateful to be able to support this special restaurant. If you're traveling to San Cristobal, make sure dinner at Muyu is on your itinerary.More
