I had a sumptuous meal of grilled fish, rice, and vegetables prepared the Cotonou style. I enjoyed it though not cheap. The rest of the family enjoyed theirs as well. Located within the center of the city with a local ambience, it is good for a local experience.

If you go alone and not have anyone to chat with, you could be frustrated with the long wait. I visited with my husband and we kept ourselves busy with a game of cards. That being said, food was very good and fresh, so no regrets. We ordered the pili pili chicken and fish...so yummy

Quite autenthic (although I could not find things like the aguti) rich in variety, taste and spicy! Strongly recommended the visit.

Excellent food!! Don't go hungry as you will have to wait an hour! We ordered the pili pili chicken, lamb in spinach stew and their version of red gari. Lots of spice, lots of flavour !! Highly recommend for authentic local cuisine. Seriously though waiting till 10pm for our dinner was frustrating

I can't help it. How can I visit Cotonou without lunch or dinner at Pili Pili. When worn begin... The fresh pineapple juice chilled to perfection or the native chicken or fish grilled with all kinds of herbs. Eating in Cotonou isn't like going to a fast food restaurant it's real dining no matter what level the restaurant is. The... More

When I asked the waiter for pima (a common preparation of grounded green chilis-in the region) he protested in response, saying no we don't do pima here! We do Pili Pili. Off he went and returned with a preparation of their own and proudly announced ..." Ici, les pili pili en question".... This is the signature source that marks the... More

The place is basic but clean and prepares very good grilled fish and grilled beef tongue, among other foods. They serve a variety of local food with usual staples. A lot of mosquitos during the evenings so bring repellent. Very reasonable prices.
