I stopped into the shop in between meetings downtown A2. I was warmly greeted and placed my order. I was struck by the fact that they provided eat in dishes for dining. I'm used to the typical Starbucks fare. This was a very nice change...of pace. They offered tables and chairs for seating. The area also included a wide assortment of children's books for purchase. This location may also serve as additional sales space for the bookstore downstairs. Great space, coffee and service. I will be back.More

We love this space and browse frequently and have coffee as we sit up on the second floor. A bookstore without a place to sit is not inviting. This place is. Parking is available directly across the street in a city parking structure.

This was the most flavorful cup of drip coffee I have ever had. Also tried the afogatto and that was amazing as well.

Literati have brilliantly combined books and coffee. Top floor is where they have their kitchen. It's tiny with a modest amount of seating. I suggest a to go cup and you can browse their books while you enjoy your latte or whatever you drink. There...cortado is the best. That's all I ever order now.More

I walked here from the residence inn . Had an almond cappuccino. The coffee was good it had free WiFi pretty standard stuff. The door is separate from the bookstore (next door to it ) so don’t assume the coffee shop is closed if the...bookstore is!More

On searching for some good coffee post-dinner in Ann Arbor would found this place hidden in the basement of a shop. Everything looked great and would be a nice place to relax if has all the time in the world to wait for and drink...your coffee. We asked for three Cortado's to takeaway and this took the 'barista' close to 15mins to serve.... Coffee was nice though and nice room so if willing to wait then worth a tryMore

We stopped in here before an appointment and ordered a peppermint tea and a vanilla latte. Both drinks were served extremely hot and they brewed the peppermint tea! It wasn't just tossed into a cup and given to me. This was a delightful, unexpected surprise...and I have to be honest and say it was one of the best peppermint tea's I have ever had! The coffee shop is located upstairs from a book store (they are connected). The downstairs has young adult and adult friendly books while the upstairs next to the coffee shop house a children's area. They offer several events throughout the month and I would like to come back to attend one. I took a picture of the schedule and unfortunately will have to miss the poetry reading tonight. The peppermint tea was three dollars and the vanilla latte was $4.50. For me the peppermint tea was definitely worth the price! One of the members in our party is only in middle school and she is already looking forward to being in college to experience the coffee and bookshop phenomena! (And yes we did purchase a book for her)! We will visit this coffee shop again!More

Great location and good coffee. I just wish they had a better selection of food, it was all basically carbs and I've been avoiding them. If I'd been able to eat there too, I would have hung out all day.

This compact coffeeshop, located above a bookstore and appears to sell picture books themselves, has an entire wall covered with generically inspirational quotes, written by patrons of the locale. Plants grow wild, while retro indie rock mellows out the atmosphere. Service, while not that great...in clearly communicating with customers, were still working with the intent to help everyone out, especially given the tight corners for those who wish to sit down. My latte was perfectly frothy and delicious. Some people may never want the atmosphere to change, at least those who like browsing the bookstore before or afterwards. They can always relocate somewhere practically next door, and with more space. And on the first floor, or with an elevator. And friendlier service.More

The baristas know their stuff and the coffee is good. It seems a place where people go to read or work, so it feels strange to try and have a conversation!

A lovely bright upstairs space with large windows, very friendly and coffee-knowledgeable barista, and tasty brew and pastries. Comments for those who have not visited: seating is all at tables with upright chairs, so not a spot for lounging around but great for work or...study. Menu on the wall is reasonably limited but the barista immediately said that if there was anything I wanted and didn't see he could make it for me. Also, the 'bean of the day' wasn't on the wall but the barista again seemed very pleased to be asked about it and replied in detail. Water came by default with the coffee, and drinks and food were brought to the table. $1 refills on the brewed coffee, with an open tab settled up at the end of the visit, were a very nice touch. All in all, a superb coffee shop well worth a visit.More
