Who'd have thunk under a busy brewery is situated an old, dingy, funky cool basement bar? My fiance went exploring during dinner at Grizzly Peak and discovered this gem down below. We finished dinner and skipped a second round upstairs to get a drink downstairs. Cool atmosphere! Great cocktail menu, good beer selections but a somewhat lacking food menu -... More

racegrrl, Thank you for joining us and exploring around. We apologize on the drink time, fifteen minutes is quite too long. Thank you for letting us know! We cannot wait to have you back soon! More

My husband and I went here last night for the very first time. We were so happy that we did! The bartender, Chelsea, was amazing! The beer is delicious and very reasonably priced. The happy hour specials are insane! Make sure to stop by for some bar food and beer, because they don't serve dinner. But their bar food is... More

The appetizer type food was good but the place is very loud with the crowd as well as music that is very loud making it hard to have a conversation.

Amazing little brew pub! Great beer ... and you can try them all in a flight! You can't go wrong! The staff was fun, and on a Friday night it was lively! Fun place to pop into!

I seem to end up at this place every few months when my wife is out of town. I really like the setting - down the stairs into a cellar, but clean, quiet and warm. Feels like a righteous setting to settle into some comfort food and nice beer. But although the setting always feels right, the food and service... More

This place has a fun, intimate feel. The bar space is very cool and the staff make you feel like you are a welcome guest in a cozy Bavarian pub. What I truly appreciated was the quality of the food. I had the soft pretzels, potato pancakes, kale salad (it is Ann Arbor after all) and the HASENPFEFFER SANDWICH!

The food menu here seemed somewhat limited. The pretzels were good, but pricey. I would recommend coming here for a drink after you've already had dinner. They have a little popcorn cart with cold popcorn, so that was nice.

Needing a quick meal on a Sunday night, we decided at long last to give the Old German a try. Only the name remains: Today's Old German is a pale imitation of its former self, as now it's basically a basement room below the Grizzly Peak, from which it borrows some of its menu items. The place was virtually empty,... More

This is one of those places that you could easily pass by. Its on the side street, with a little sign and a single door on a plain brick wall. They open at 4pm. You head down a set of stairs and you are now in a German Cellar. Its narrow with comfortable seating. Many Beer styles available. We ordered... More
