Restaurant with only fried fish, prawns, a fish curry, salad and some paratha or rice. We choose the paratha’s and had one fish of 750 gram and 500 gram prawns for the 3 of us. Its nice, tasty food and a whole different experience than...the fancy restaurants you can find in Dubai. We went there around 17.40 on a weekday and there was no queu and we were lucky we could sit outside. Although the prawns amd fish are fried, they’re not oily at all. One advice, just order paratha’s for one round and if you want another, order it just before you finish the first one so that you get warm ones again!More

The menu-- fried fish and fires shrimps with rice or pratha. that's it. and still it's my favorite restaurant in Dubai. I'd come here almost every month just to get down and dirty and eat. if you're tired of the bling and the fake social...climbing crowds in Dubai, come to bu qtair, savor their fresh fish and shrimps, and enjoy life as it should be. tip: they serve pratha for dinner time only. and be there before 6pm, otherwise, it's an hour long wait.More

We have been visiting this place for the last 20 years ....from the time it was called Fish Shop on Jumeriah ....a single port a cabin n few plastic tables n chairs on the sand.... the smily face of the owner and his friendly chats...made us feel at home. For the first time today I felt this place has gone down the drain with its service....a crowded evening n we had a token No 105. Like other guests we too were looking for a table n finally sat at one after the guests left n repeatedly requested the serving person to clean up the table......mainly bcoz the paper plates n tissue paper from the table was flying.....the arrogant server came to our table only to tell us that the table will be cleaned once our food is ready n that we occupied the table early. Yes we did occupy the table early but we never deprived any guest ahead of us in the queue a seating place..... It was a disgusting experience today.......if we hadn't paid for our food we would have left that place immediately.......With the growth in business customer service should go up the ladder.....unfortunately it is missed here.....More

I have seen people complain about the waiting time. Let it be known that this restaurant is not for people who has little patience. This is also not a fancy restaurant; so people should manage their expectations before going there. I feel bad for the...staff who are being yelled at by entitled and unruly guests. During peak hrs (lunch & dinner), this restaurant gets really packed! Getting a table means waiting for people to finish their meal then compete with other patrons to get the vacated spot. From my experience, the average waiting time to get a table and receive your order will be around 30 to 45mins. There is a reason why people keeps coming back despite the waiting time: the fish is always fresh. Can't say the same for the shrimp though. Well, the big fried fish is always the hero for each meal! They serve the fish with a not-so-fresh salad (still complements the fish somehow). There are hand wash sinks available in and out of the restaurant. The loo is located outside (clean but not properly maintained; make sure to bring your own wipes!) The staff cleans the table but it is always good to practice CAYGO (clean as you go)!More

The food was good, but not suitable for chilfren and tables was dirty and cleaning staff was very rude to the point where it reaches stupidity. I will not bring my family to this place again.

This is a cash only place. Queue at the counter. Decide what fish and how much shrimp you want to eat. You pay per weight. Your receipt has a number. When your number gets called, decide on roti or rice as a side. Outdoor seating...with a harbour view. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. It gets busy during weekends. Considering the freshness it's good value for money.More

Probably one of the best fresh fish places in Dubai, there are no frills but it doesn't need any, excellent food and cheap. Highly recommended!
