The Sammach restaurant is very well situated to watch the Dubai Fountains. On entering the restaurant there is a good selection of fresh seafood and we ordered, amongst other things, the seafood platter for 2, a plate of mussel and chicken. All dishes came to the table cold, after a very long wait after ordering. My daughter was so hungry... More

A friend who lives in Dubain for 20 years, took us here for lunch and it was our favorite meal of our entire trip! Fish that was so fresh I think they caught it that boring! Amazing local/Middle Eastern dishes, hummus etc, just all kinds of small plates that were fabulous.

I don't understand the reviews of Sammach. Our experience was completely different, we had an excellent dinner. The location is beautiful, right at the bottom of the Burj Khalifa. If you have the chance to sit outside you will have a beautiful view and will be able to enjoy the water show!! Food was top notch, some of the best... More

This is a fresh seafood based menu. Almost everyone calls a day or two in advance to secure an outdoor table that overlooks the Dubai Fountain. You gotta queue to select your fish, prawns and or other catch at the ice display near the entrance. The meals are then grilled and served almost robotically by an under staffed team that... More

Would I recommend Sammach or come back? Yes, for sure. The food is excellent and the views of the fountain shows are special. But the service... ugh... terrible in the extreme. At one point we asked for something simple like refills for employee and the waiter said it was not his job! Maybe not, but it certainly should have been... More

If you care about fast fine service do not go to this restaurant. If you do not care about good service and you like good fare priced food you go to this restaurant. I personally did not feel I am in DUBAI.

We were in by midday, first customers of the day. Salads and hummus are great to start and then go for the grilled red snapper. Sit outside for a view of he famous dancing fountains. The lobster was not good, I doubt it's fresh. Our server dexter was great and very accommodating to all our requests.

I ordered the Lebanese harbor fish. We had to hound the waiter however to place my order. My wife ordered fish and chips. Appetizers were weird as the hot peppers, pickled cabbage, etc came with tartar sauce and mustard. Our entrees came after 20 minutes and were warm. My Lebanese fish was okay, saved by the scant sauce. Rice was heavy... More

We ate here at recommendation of our tour guide. There are not enough waiters to service this many tables. Our waiter seemed nice, but we had to really keep on him. The place was not crowded either. I had fish and chips which was nice. The main draw is sitting next to the water show. We were sable to see... More

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
