We had dinner here because we were staying near the restaurant and we couldn't find many other places to eat. The food was average, but quite expensive compared to other restaurants in town. To top it off, the credit card machine was not working so we had to pay in cash - but we did not have enough cash on... More

Had the pork knuckle stew in Lao beer. Pork was super-tender and the stew was delicious. It was plonked into my plate by the waiter from the beer can itself, which I thought was was a really good touch. In terms of value for money, the cost was high for Laos, and the portion size left me wanting a little... More

The size of the menu is somewhat limited but it provides a good sampling of authentic lao dishes. The food tasted good and looked freshed. It is probably less spicy than if it catered to lao customers, but certainly not bland, and the mok pa was delicious. I found a bit odd the contrast between the simplicity of the dishes,... More

After 2 days had lunch and dinners in this restaurant, I felt in love this restaurant of Victoria Xiengthong Palace. They offered a lot of dishes which made for all types of guests. From Western, Asian to Laos or Luang Prabang specialties. This is more than my expectations. Will come back to enjoy an exciting and peaceful atmosphere next to... More

SUMMARY: This restaurant has the whitest table clothes I have ever seen, an excellent location, well-dressed staff, but the quality of the food served was well below that of all the other restaurants we had the fortune of visiting. Very disappointing. The food was bland, bordering on tasteless. And it was expensive. One of my biggest frustrations with restaurants around... More

Fantastic location and ambiance cannot be bettered...but...the white tablecloths and wine glasses drive your expectations to a superior meal - and it ain't. The food is average at best with zero attempt at presentation and none of the touches you might expect at a superior place. The service is indifferent to a degree. Belive me - go to Blue lagoon... It's a combination of the setting by the river, friendly staff and amazing flavours created by the chef that show this restaurant has it all. They serve French and Lao food. I had the Lao Style Buffalo stew w/ sticky rice. It was the best tasting stew I've had on my whole trip to Asia. The food is well prepared... More

Great venue and atmosphere. All starts well.... I can understand when the waiters aren't very profecient in English, but the food?? Really!! Rice under cooked, "Mekong" fish wrapped in omellete.... Tough crispy spring rolls...... Saving grace was that the Sweet Chilli sauce was from a bottle. One couple and seven year old $113.... Bah! Humbug!
