Very small place (but we understand they will be moving soon), but all very nice. The best part perhaps was when we left a banknote in the tip box: there was so much thankfulness from the staff, not because of the money but because of the recognition of our appreciation. These people are the best Laos can offer.

The restaurant creates culinary masterpieces based on local foods. We had four different entrees, an appetizer and two desserts, and I would happily reorder any of them. There were two different dishes based on Mekong fish and another of Luang Prabang sausage (yummy). The desserts included an amazing serving of grilled pineapple topped with a creamy sweet sauce. Don't miss... More

This restaurant is special, mr Toui (and the rest of the staff) put so much work and effort in their food, that alone is so lovely to witness! But of course, the food is truly amazing. You can tell they chose the menu and ingredients carefully since they have only 4-5 dishes per category (starter/main/vegetarian/desert) and you want to try... More

This was a favourite dinner destination during our week in Luang Prabang. OK there are cheaper options in town, but for a mid range option this hits the spot perfectly. It's not just a business here, there's an obvious and genuine love for all things food which came through in our meals plus the enthusiasm and efficiency of the staff... More

Good food here - no wonder it's difficult to get a table. Owner is Italian/American, and was training new staff when i arrived who were keen to please. The owner was also diplomatic when a customer complained that he could never get a table (it obviously didn't occur to him to get there earlier). However - single ladies beware -... More

We were recommended by Paul from Sanakeo Boutique Hotel for our 1st night in Luang Prabang. Cafe Toui is tucked along a small lane, turned left when you reached a junction after the long stretch of the nightmarket. It is better to be there early especially for dinner, as the seating is sort of limited, service is kind of slow... More

Hype surrounds this place and with good reason. I walked by it a couple of time and saw it jammed packed every single time, which sometimes can be a put-off for such a small place. I don't want to eat on someone's lap or be close enough to hear them chew. On the way back from Mt. Phousi, curiosity got... More

Our meal at Cafe Tout was the best we had in our days. We ordered from the specials on the balackboard and wee not disappointed. The ambience is nothing special, and the service was a little slow, but we were very happy with the food.

Honest home-cooked food, and reasonably priced as well. We ordered a tasting menu of Lao dishes and beer, and it came up to less than USD15 per person. We especially enjoyed the chicken laab and the stir fried mushrooms. The beef dish was slightly chewy. All the dishes were seasoned very well and the service was polite and prompt. You... More

Description
Cafe Toui serves magically simple Lao food, prepared to order by Chef Toui. Because of the super abundance of vegetables from surrounding farms and in our local markets, we can offer many interesting vegetarian choices as well as traditional dishes with fish, pork and duck, etc. All with Toui's amazing flavors. We bend a bit from Lao tradition for special desserts. We serve cocktails, beers and some wine.
