Nice place to eat on a mosquito free evening. Across the bamboo bridge from the old town in a more local residential area. Good service and food, some of which was Laotian fondue chinoise, was above average. Two can eat with a drink for around $25. If you want the river view go for Lunch when its especially quiet.

We crossed the rickety bamboo bridge (an experience unto itself) to get to this restaurant which you'd never come across if you didn't know where to find it. Lots of ambiance - low or floor seating Asian style. Only some tables can be used for the "fondue" which is a clay pot filled with red hot coals placed in a... More

Make sure you ask for a table close to the edge if you want the river view as most of the tables are for large groups & we had to look for our table by ourselves. Food's ok.

Thanks for your review! We do suggest that you reserve in advance if you wish to have a table by the river. The restaurant is on many levels, so the view can be obstracted by trees and others tables. We do give out our tables by the river when people reserve in advance, that it is first come first serve. More

Great food, kid- friendly, great views, good service. They even have a small kids play area and games to borrow while you are there. Right on the right river

The restaurant is accessible over the bamboo bridge in the drier seasons. There are tables scattered at different levels along the river bank and you are requested to take off your shoes when sitting which makes you feel quite comfortable. There is a good variety of foods available, including a do-it-yourself platter where you cook meat, vegetables and noodles in... More

I work for Wendy Wu Tours in New Zealand and took 5 travel agents here for dinner one night in Luang Prabang. It was an adventure getting there walking across the bamboo bridge over the Mekong River. Food was great...even tried buffalo for the first time, and service fast and efficient. The atmosphere of the place is wonderful hugging the... More

The restaurant is located above the bamboo bridge on the opposite riverside than the heritage city center. It has fantastic views over the bridge and the river. I had a green curry with tofu, and steamed rice (52000 kip). The food was delicate, but nothing extraordinary. Go here for the views. Happy hour 12-19 every day (two cocktails 40000kip).

Good ambience , authentic food but they forgot our order, so therefore average in star ratings! Waited an hour before being served but to be fair the service staffs were apologetic. Be prepared to be smelling of hotpot bbqs, as the smoke and aroma can be overpowering if you are not having one.

Dyen Sabai quickly became one of our favourite restaurants to eat at during our stay in Luang Prabang. If you get there at just the right time you can take advantage of the happy hour cocktails (2 for 1), then move on to the unique dining experience of preparing your own Laos soup/broth as you sit over a fire pit,... If you have only 1 meal in Luang Prabang then be sure to have it here! Multi-level seating arrangements are unique matched with the outstanding food choices. Even getting there via the bamboo bridge is fun although we were told that when the rainy season starts the bridge is dismantled as it is unsafe at that time.

Description
Dyen Sabai offers Lao typical food and foreigner breakfast. We also have a nice selection of desert (foreigner sweet.. sorry the Laotians don't eat that much sweet!!) We also, have happy hour from noon to 7 pm, 2 cocktails for the price of one, on selected cocktails. You can reach us with a bamboo bridge (in dry season) (there is a fee for the bamboo bridge of 5,000 kips). We also do free boat from noon to closing when the bamboo bridge is not there (rainy season only)
Dyen Sabai is a chill out restaurant where you sit on cushions on the floor or regular table. We have lao typical food and the lao BBQ.
