Okra is easily the best fine dining experience in all of Karachi if not Pakistan. It is a great place to go for celebrations and all their food is amazing

Hands down the best place to grab a meal. Reservations in advance is necessary to secure a table. Each and every dish is cooked to perfection

Tonight Okra and Ayaz pulled out all the stops. We started with lobster and crab pate. Wow. There was nothing left. My husband's duck was melt in the mouth. My risotto with juicy prawns, perfectly cooked arborio rice and zucchini was heaven on a plate....The waitstaff are the best in Karachi. If you are passing through, and only have time for one meal in Karachi, have it here.More

Loved this place, cannot believe it was the first time I had come to eat here ... hmm maybe once when it first opened, though cannot recall. I had asked my friend who is a regular to take me here as I knew he understood...the menu and level of service very well. Calm ambiance and very cottage like feel with beautiful momentos on the walls. Also, amazes me the obvious demand has not tempted a shift to a larger location, and I can only assume maintaining the quality may be an issue, though I did notice a little (test?) cafe next door which was beyond cool as the couple tables they had there were in the middle of a busy kitchen so one could experience all the action. On the day we were at the main restaurant, and opted for the 3-course fixed lunch menu. The bread basket was delicious, especially the olive bread brought out on special request. The starter was cheese slices in olive oil (a spongy cheese like Bocconcini but not, forgot the name, serves me right for writing this review 2 weeks after the experience). Throughly enjoyed the main course of Red Snapper, a moist white flaky fish done perfectly. And ended with a flourless chocolate tart, which was great though not out of this world. Ingredients were excellent, service was awesome. I would be coming back again ... and again on my next visit to Karachi!More

Okra, one of the top restaurants in Karachi. It was nice experience and I must thank my business partner for inviting us to Okra. We shared a “mezze” plate and great bread selection followed by the main; Escalope of Chicken with Dijon, Celery & Green...Peppercorn in a Cream Sauce, Spicy Crab Linguine with Lemon and a juicy burger. As dessert we took a delicious Panacotta and not very tasty chocolate lava cake. The food was good service was nice staff was friendly overall a fairly good experience.More

Our love affair with Okra continues … The superb bread basket collection sets the prelude for nicer things to come! Starting off with Chili Prawns with Avocado as well as Grilled Calamari - the tastes were subtle and very flavorful! Followed by their classic steak...entrees, with Chimichurri; Pan seared; and with Morel sauce - all were melt-in-the-mouth yummy! For the sweet finish, we had our favorite vanilla Panacotta, which was smooth, silky and took us back to its Italian origins! Not a false note anywhere - from accommodating our non-smoking table preference, to the quick service and superb presentations, it is heartening to see good ol' Okra consistently setting the standards for fine dining in Pakistan!More

Okra continues to be the top most restaurant in Karachi. You can never go wrong when you are visiting Okra. I normally start with a biscuit naan, something which is nit written on their menu but is available. Order it as soon as you reach....Good for munching on till your food arrives. Excellent salads and starters including soups. Excellent choice of mains of all types. And of-course top notch desserts. Make sure you book well in advance.More

Having dined at Michelin starred restaurants many times, I know what fine dining is and although the food at Okra is good, it is nothing exceptional. I visited twice - having heard lots about it, and tried various dishes from the A la carte menu...(Buffalo mozzarella, Seared Haloumi with pear, spicy crab linguine and Creme brulee) and also the special menu (Crab & Lobster pate on toast, SF Salad, Scottish smoked salmon, Fresh figs with Bresaola, homemade ricotta & balsamic, and Pumpkin pie), all based upon the waiters/managements recommendations as to their most popular dishes. The ingredients were very fresh and the food tasted fine but lacked that wow factor that would make me want to order any dish a second time. The Mozzarella dish in particular was so simple that it felt like something I could easily put together within 2 minutes at home, there was very little to it. There was also a lack of creativity, for example both starters from the A la carte menu had Pomegranate kernels sprinkled over them which brought nothing to the dishes in terms of taste nor texture. Considering the price - which by Pakistani standards is very high, I was expecting a lot more. The highlight was probably the crab linguine, followed by the desserts which were both quite good, but even these were not sufficiently good enough to warrant a return anytime soon. Add to that the 'carnival' like atmosphere on an evening, with excessively loud tables of diners that resembled a British pub on a Saturday night, any allusions of fine dining were soon put to rest as I struggled to even hear myself think. To surmise: good but not great food, difficult to locate from the outside and very much overpriced for what it is.More

Not sure what all the fuss is about - it does have some interesting dishes but the restaurant’s reputation seems to be a bit overhyped - it’s also quite small and the management seems to actively discourage children from being brought there with a 7...pm deadline - I would say that it’s living in its past gloryMore

I have been frequenting Okra for the last 20 years have watched it grow and evolve from a simple curry / kebab joint to a fabulous Mediterranean resto. Rich flavours, colourful plates, seasonal produce and festive celebrations. It’s hard to find a match to their...flair and consistency in Karachi much less the rest of the country. They continue to innovate, explore new food trends, develop local suppliers and resources, and have established themselves as leaders in their field. Still some of the best food I’ve had on the planet. They do a Crab Linguini I haven’t found an equal too yet. Bon appétit!More
