They are literally a restaurant in a hotel. They should expect guests would come to them at any time, guests that are hungry. I went there around 4pm and they turned me away because their lunch service had ended and their dinner service was supposed...to start at 7 or 7:30. If this was the case the hotel staff should have told me. They should have it on their website. If a restaurant turns away a hungry customer, it can't be good for sure. Never have I been turned away by a restaurant in Pakistan.More

Currently visiting my home town Karachi from Canada. I heard a lot of positive feedback and hype about Sakura. I was keenly waited for food, appetizers stared coming which was mostly different sushi and no doubt lovely. Then I was looking forward for the main...course finally that came but the food was terrible. Most of the Pakistanis are not aware how Japanese food should tastes like or even cooked. Presentation was unimpressive, noodles were broken to smaller than than bite size chicken was scarce and literally fewer than my fingers on my hand and they were smallest size you can find in the market. Needless to say horrible taste, overcooked, sauce too sour, noodles broken to very small size and unappetizing look. I couldn’t eat more than a quarter of my dinner. My friend called the manager, who profusely apologized and insisted that he will replace my food immediately which he did which was better but the damage was already done. Then I asked for the check the prices were unjustified for the quality of the food. Ridiculously expensive. Most of the Pakistanis do not have exposure to the foreign foods, they do not understand what and how it should be served, so they don’t have any opinion about it so they accept it as is.More

Dear Mr Hasaan (Manager Sakura), Yesterday i went to sakura with my family, we invited our brothers in laws for the first time. We thought to take them to sakura as it is a named restaurant. The service was really pathetic, first of all the...table was not setup properly, no cutlery on the table, i order cutlery from the waiter Mr Shakoor, he bought 1 knife, though we were a group of around 10 people, I politely asked him again to bring it for every one. Than he bought for 3 people, i got pissed away and asked him to get a knife as well and do you know what he said to me? “Our standards are of only chopsticks, if you want ask me for a knife as well” can you please train this guy how to talk to a person? Also teach him the meaning of cutlery (it means knife, fork, spoon). Really sorry i spent around 47K and he is talking about my standards. Please teach them manners. One more thing i asked for drink which never arrived even after food Asked for a chilled water bottle 3 times and got it after 20 mins. Received bill after half hour. If you are charging that much you must teach your waiters how to talk to their customers at least. A hotel like PC (A Hashoo Group Product) and this attitude?? Suggestions -Increase staff -fire these type of waiters (Mr Shakoor)More

Sakura is consistent in the quality of its food and I have yet to be disappointed by the eatery although we have been frequenting it since it opened its doors years ago. Its service is also efficient and courteous without becoming irritatingly attentive, and the...ambience, while formal is pleasing, offering great views of the city, if you manage to bag the right table..More

While Sakura has always topped our list of Japanese fine dining restaurants, our most recent visit was quite a disappointment. For starters, the Beef Negimaki was very good but the Prawn Tempuras were more shell and less prawn! And for our main entree, the Teppenyaki...prawns, fish and beef, the less said the better - it was overly oily (buttery?) and garlicky!!! We discovered that the Japanese Chef who originally used to do the live cooking at the hibachi grill had sadly passed away, unfortunately, the replacement was just not up to the mark yet! And, at these prices, a most disappointing experience; I sincerely hope that they manage to find their stride once again - the sooner, the better!More

Awesome and very fresh sushi. We had lovely salmon sashimi and California maki. The seared beef was cooked perfectly. On the expensive side but still worth it!

Sakura located on the rooftop of famous PC Hotel, in the center of the city. The city views is beautiful and elegant. they have plentiful menu: sushi, shasimi, tempura, miso soup or combo for group of people... The most impressive thing is that you can...see the chef does your dishes. This is a must-try for me when you are in Karachi.More

Atop the Hotel Pearl Continental Karachi, Sakura offers one of the best Japanese cuisine in Karachi. The food is appealing, tempting and palatable with enough variety of excellent Japanese food. The chef is excellent and there is an area where he does live cooking too....The ambience is great with excellent service who are helpful in guiding the best meal for your palate. The restaurant is located at the roof top of the Hotel Pearl Continental (probably the 10th floor) with three sided corner giving you the best of day and night time view over the most posh locality of Karachi that have the Governor's House annd the famous Polo grounds and Jinnah Courts on one side, the Gymkhana club, Hotel metropole and club road on the other side and the Chief Minister's home, and view towards Clifton on the third side. All sides have seating tables that are served upon and with complete glass windows that give you a street up unrestricted view from this vantage point.More
