We celebrated our anniversary at Smokini and our waiter was on point from the very beggining. Delicious food was served we had candles on our dessert as I requested previously on Facebook. It is the nicest place we have ever tried so far and we can only recommend it! Try it, you won't regret it! Thank you guys for your precious service! Oh and try the white castle wine! It's divine, too!

I organised a dinner for 60 people at the restaurant. The staff was extremely helpful from the start, offering me different options and menus. They managed to fit us all up on the terrace which was just great and delightful open space.
The food was delicious, the service was top notch and I believe everyone enjoyed the experience!

Nothing was too much trouble, waiters were attentive without being invasive. Food was beautiful, menu might have been reduced slightly due to covidvirus. Overall a terrific experience and would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. A extra plus prices were affordable. Try it and happy eating

Had dinner there twice.
Decoration is nice and has a cozy feeling.
Service was efficient and polite both times with different waiters.
Now food.
Cucumber rolls with salmon was not tasty, we were expecting something more.
The polenta tasted much better.
Marinated salmon, Sea bass & beef tongue were very well cooked, the beef cheeks were FANTASTIC and as for the duck should be a little bit tough.
Would definitely go back.

We visited this place during our visit to Plovdiv. The food was great, the atmosphere cozy & the service excellent! Good value for money... We highly recommend the slow cooked pork & risotto with mushroom. Retro Zagorka beer was at the right temperature served in iced beer glasses !

Services was truly excellent, very personable and professional - probably the best I have had in a while and ambience is good too. Food was absolutely great. I am a chef and can say that the dishes we had was on world level. I am a meat lover and I really enjoyed the fois gras and the duck magret. My wife is vegetarian and she loved the kinoa salad and the apple pie, which was just amazing delicious and beautiful presented. You guessed it, we loved it so much. We will visit Smokini again for sure!

The whole experience was 5 stars from start to finish. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. Our Waiter Gilan (hope that is correct), was extremely polite, attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine menus. The food was melt in your mouth delicious. We recommend the beef cheeks and pork ribs, and finish it off with the cheesecake

A great find for us in Plovdiv. My son and I both ate the beef brisket, which was little short of sensational. My wife ordered a pork dish which turned out to be beef too, which she normally refuses to eat - they made an honest mistake but she ate it anyway rather than make a fuss, and it was actually very good. Apart from the minor cock-up, the service was great. The place was fairly quiet for a Saturday evening, and I imagine the generic bare brick and exposed steel girders decor is not everyone's taste, but we thought it was fine. I hope Smokini flourishes, as the food was great and the competition in Plovdiv is fierce. One additional thing we enjoyed was nothing to do with the restaurant itself. At the next table was a couple who were comically entertaining, the man being a louche middle-aged lothario who fancied himself as a movie director or such like, his partner a younger woman acting like an ageing starlet. They couldn't keep their hands off each other, and provided unintentional entertainment for the evening.

Our dining experience at Smokini in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, was outstanding! The cozy ambiance was welcoming, and the dishes were delicious. We enjoyed a fresh burrata salad, a perfectly cooked T-bone steak, and a divine cheesecake for dessert.
Our waiter, Gali (sorry about the spelling), was attentive, kind, and professional, adding to the wonderful atmosphere. Smokini is a must-visit in Plovdiv for its flavorful food and exceptional service. Highly recommended!

It’s a very elegant place. When we were in Plovdiv, we wanted to taste traditional Bulgarian cuisine and went there. It was in the afternoon. They served in a very friendly manner. Despite the house was about to close( it was Sunday), they waited us to finish our meal and moreover they treated us to a very delicious homemade dessert.
Thanks guys! You are perfect.

We booked a nice table outside only 30 minutes in advance, worked perfectly.
As starters, we had the Smokini salad and a Shopska salad, especially the Smokini salad was excellent and somehow new to us. Along with the salads, we had different Rakias as recommended by our waiter. Then we went with the beef cheeks and the slow-cooked pork ribs. Both excellent, a must-eat for meat lovers.
Also the recommended local red wine was very good. Sticked to the high-end product which was decanted and served along with some information on the wine.

Excellent food. The Smokini salad was fabulous on a whole new level and Slow Roasted Pork was delicious! Others in our party had linguini, smoked fish bruchetta, and calamari, all of which were first class. We booked having read the reviews and our service was also impeccable ( although we did notice a couple walk away after waiting some time to be served when things got really busy).
We ate in the garden (more of a courtyard really), which had a nice buzzy atmosphere.
Perfect central location.

Nicely designed restaurant with several eating areas, with an interesting menu in a spotless environment. Friendly service but took an hour between finishing the starters before the main dishes were served - no explanation or apology, despite the restaurant being relatively quiet. Disappointing.

What a wonderful dinner! We ate on the patio which was very lovely.
The food was very delicious, especially the Smokini salad. This was one of the best salads that I have had ever! It included mixed salad greens, dried figs, blue cheese mousse, pumpkin seeds with honey-mustard dressing. The New York cheesecake was also very good.
The waitstaff were responsive, helpful and friendly. We appreciated the care they took in answering our questions about potential allergens, as well as the information about allergens (and vegetarian food) included in the menu.
So glad we chose Smokini as our place to dine in Plovdiv.

Conveniently located on the edge of the old town, with an intimate roof terrace and a slim menu with delicious dishes perfectly portioned and steering a bit on the gourmet side e.g. slow roast pork w. grilled vegetables mashed potatoes and wine sauce; sous vide chicken fillet with corn puree, sauted mushrooms and fig sauce; home made nougat ice cream served with figs and brittle; banana cream with dark chocolate with raspberry gel and fresh fruit. Naturally - after all, “Smokini” means “fig” - figs seem to be very present in the menu. Very good and very prompt service.
