The food was pretty good but service was very slow in a almost empty restaurant. First we waited half an hour for the food, then over fifteen minutes for the bill.

We ordered two pizzas and one pasta. Pizzas were good but pasta did not taste at all no flavour and dish was poorly cooked maybe overcooked.

We had a great night at Pizzeria Galija when we were in Split. The best pizza in Croatia and the seafood starter platter gave us a great Croatian experience. Prices also good for quality. Worth a visit!

Their pizzas are very good as are the Caesar Salads. Only problem is we had to wait about 40 minutes for the food. Guessing not normal as they were busy but we managed to get a table.

I was here with my girlfriend and we had really good time. Pizza was great, waiters were ready to tell us everything we wanted to know, and the food came in 10 minutes even though there was no free table at the restaurant at all....More

Went here with my brother looking for a relatively cheap meal out, the only choice of wine was white or red, the red being fairly unpalatable yet reasonably priced, the pizza was ok but nothing special, and the service was rushed and inattentive. All in...More

Came here for dinner with my girlfriend and enjoyed a lovely meal, the pizza I had was sublime and was reasonably priced. There's a very wide variety of salads, pastas and obviously pizzas on offer. Highly recommend!

We recently had a short break in Split and found Galija by accident - a lucky find! Excellent pizza, great service - we came back a second time because it was so good

More fantastic Croatian customer service. Pizzas good but not outstanding, big & tasty though but a great night thanks to excellent wine ( VERY limited choice ) & wonderful service.

Description
Pizzeria „Galija“ is located in the very centre of the historic part of Split and close to the walls of the Diocletian’s Palace. It is the ideal place to rest and enjoy delicious food, after a long stroll through the meandering streets of the old city. The pizzeria was named after the galley, a ship powered by oarsmen, and used at first mainly as a merchant vessel and later on in maritime battles.

Today, we imagine a different galley – one that is an oasis of peace, relaxation and good food, run by our carefully selected staff who is always there for you. Pizzeria „Galija“ is well known for its cosy and intimate interior inspired by the warmth and golden-glow of a wood-fired oven where the flames haven’t ceased to burn since “Galija” opened its door for the first time.

Our pizzas are made using the original recipe from 1980, that has time after time delighted the taste buds of our customers. The interior is decorated with natural materials, wood and stone. Coupled with details like the antique amphora, the space exudes warmth and rustic charm. The atmosphere is enhanced by the terrace overlooking Split’s historic core.

On the „Galija’s“ menu you will find a succulent selection of pizzas from a wood-fired oven, meat, fish and vegetable dishes, pasta dishes and gnocchi as well as deserts made from well-tried and recognizable recipes.
