At 40-100 kuna for a meal you can't be expecting a gourmet meal. Nonetheless, Fife serves a very respectable meal in traditional Croatic theme. We've eaten breakfast there two times as well at 50 kuna per person.

We were recommended this place by our Airbnb host. It is popular with locals which is always encouraging. Good selection of fish, we shared a small fish play that had fried fish, prawns and squid. Beer was cheap for 500L it was £2.5 in total with a fish soup, salad and olives it was £18. Lots of seating around as well. It’s worth a visit

Only when you are away from the main tourists area around the Palace you would find a great restaurant with reasonable price. By 6 pm the whole place is full and most clients are locals. The service is polite and efficient, the fish is fresh and tasty, and their pasticada ( beef stew and gnocchi) are the best in town.

Really don’t see why this place is so busy. Food was cheap but was served in about 3 minutes was clearly premade or frozen. The squid was clearly frozen and tasted of watery rubber, and was chucked in with a mountain of frozen chips. Do not order the small fish! A mountain of fried fish tails. Beer was warm as well. Won’t be back.

We loved Fife. We went there after a recommendation from our Airbnb host. The restaurant was already busy in the early evening but the staff were very helpful and arranged for us to be seated quickly. The portions of seafood were huge and great quality. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly, welcoming and had good banter with the guests. Plus, a great view and only a few minutes stroll from the Riva! Fantastic!

The food was very salty.. they used way too much salt.
Also when we ordered the food, the dishes were served within 5minutes.. this can only mean the food wasn't fresh and yes.. the dishes tasted as if they were reheated. The french fries. This didn't happen only to us but also on other tables.. food always arrived within 5 minutes after ordering. Also the red wine was very hot! I drinked mine but the table behind me returned their red wines, which I also should've done.
All and all the food was bad, wine was bad and the service was also bad.

A lot of locals dine here which in itself tells it's own story. Great Croatian dishes at affordable prices. We were there on a Saturday evening and it was really busy yet the staff were efficient and had a pleasant attitude.
My Daughter's chicken fillet was so big it just about fit on the plate and it was cooked to perfection. We were all happy with the dishes chosen.
It was in a great location too so if you are in Split definitely drop in here.

We loved the place and dined two of our four nights in Split there. They serve authentic local food, a little bit more on the rustic side, but very delicious. I especially liked that you can choose your side dishes. The prices are simply unbeatable, we paid roughly half of what we usually spend for dinner in other restaurants in Split or Dubrovnik. I would totally recommend it!

We were there yesterday and we are disappointed. We ordered squids and they served on a one plate although we ordered two portions. Staff did't inform us about that so finally I was waiting for my dish while my husband almost ate everything. Secondly, there wasn't any souce for squids. Cevapci was dried and a friend who ate them had stomach problems. Wine was good and cheap. If you are looking for good prices Fife is ok, but if you are looking for good food you will be disappointed.

The place is always vibrant with a superb local spirit. Very friendly staff! The portions are more than enough ( if you order fish, it is 2 fish per person... Yep!) and very tasty. Highly recommend a visit. Do try some ' Ayvar' (Red peppers sauce). We simply loved it!

If you are looking to have amazing simple fish dishes at reasonable prices. This is your place.. The squid is amazing, they have sea bass and sea bream at very reasonable prices. The quality of the food matches other more expensive restaurants. The house wine is also quite nice.

The food was ok, but the service was awful. After we finished with the meal, the waiter immediately came with the check and stood by our side waiting for us to pay, while the other waiter was picking up the dishes. At the moment we still had some wine in our glasses but it was clear that they want us to leave immediately because it was rush hour. That was not a very nice service.

I have been to this legendary restaurant several times a couple of years ago and the cuisine and level of service has always been top notch, but the other day was my last time. The steak in the sauce was as old as an old shoe (which is what I told the waiter when he initially asked me "is everything okay?") However, the worst part came when I ran into a hair that wasn't a hair on the half-eaten plate .. After dinner, the girl admitted to me that she too found a hair in her risotto, but she was embarrassed to admit it right away, in front of a friend she invited to dinner. When I told the waiters what happened, instead of apologizing and removing the shame on the plate from the bill, they said that I could have put it on the plate myself. Placed on a plate in front of the woman and her friend.. The bottom of the bottom. Never again in that shame of a restaurant and never again to recommend to anyone. Shame.

We thought we would give this place a try as it was recommended our Airbnb host and it was very busy whenever we walked past. What a mistake. If you like your food piled high and of poor quality then this will suit you. Huge quantities but every dish
lacked seasoning and was tasteless. Clearly some of the waiters were working very hard and communicated with customers in a helpful and friendly manner. We had a problem with one waitress who we found to be very rude when she rolled her eyes because we asked for a portion of bread. This was the worst meal we had in Split.

This place was the perfect place to go and experience good and authentic Croatian cuisine for a very reasonable price. The food was excellent and was served in large portions. Beer was great, atmosphere was superb! 10/10
