What a disappointment after our wonderful meals here last year. Flatbread with lots of lettuce, three quarter size pieces of cheese for $20+. Terrible. Fig flatbread okay, but not worth the money. The major conversation piece was however the salad: one long piece of lettuce and five dime sizes pieces of other things. That was it! While all meals on... More

We got a 50% off dinner coupon from our innkeeper so decided to check it out. The place is very quaint and lovely. Our server Karen was fabulous and our meal (halibut in butter, say no more) was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend checking it out.

Probably one of the best meals we had on Nantucket. We were a family of four and really enjoyed the Fluke and the Steak dinners. The atmosphere was very intimate in a very cozy historical building dating back to the 1700's.The salad special made with local heirloom tomatoes was delicious. The wine selection was also extensive.

First a caveat: we were not able to eat here, despite having confirmed a reservation 3 weeks in advance of our trip. We tried to reconfirm the morning of our reservation, but there was confusion because they apparently have a very disorganized system where reservations are taken in two places (Summer House and at the restaurant itself), and so they... I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the decor of this historic restaurant. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I had the beet salad (delicious!) and gazpacho. The bread and oil they served was seriously good. My friend had the Caesar salad and lobster with gnocchi. She ate every bite. It is a beautiful spot and great to escape the... More

A little pricey (like all of Nantucket), but great service, excellent food, and a very romantic feel with low lighting and candles in a wood-furnished space.

Really glad to see the new chef with his outstanding new menu. Dined there several times recently and could not have asked for better service or food. So glad that this restaurant has kept its historic physical integrity and not gutted the interior like some many other places on Nantucket.

The ambiance of the old Woodbox is still there and the menu is limited but there is something for most tastes. Rob provided attentive service which was easy to do because the restaurant was mostly empty. Management has seemingly reverted to the Summer House which has not advertised, rejoined Open Table or even created a functioning website. If this venerable... More

We have always enjoyed this restaurant...one of the best in Nantucket. Unfortunately their chef,Nimesh left them this season. We just had a nice dinner but unfortunately, some of their signature dishes that made them so popular are not on the menu this summer. They were known for their Tuscan Bolognese with the wonderful Ragu-Bechemal sauce; Short Ribs; Chicken under a... More

Hands down, this is the best place for dinner on the island. The restaurant is now under new management, and these guys know what they are doing. We were warmly greeted at the door and shown to our table. The building dates back to the 1700's and the maitre d' happily showed us around and pointed out unique aspects of... More
