After touring the city with a day tour guide, we stopped at the Mercado de Marisco and head upstair to the the restaurant for lunch. The place was packed and crowded. The fresh seafood, fish, and shell fish dishes were all great and reasonably price. We ordered fried fish, octopus, seafood stew, and a variety of fried seafood. They were... More

Very good venue to grab some food before heading into the old city. Delicious choices, including ceviche. The pricing is fairly good and it was a good refreshing experience trying out fish, shrimp, squid and other delicious seafood options. Try to make sure you have cash on you and definitely take in the view of the city from the corner... More

This bustling venue on the water has two parts: one side is a commercial market that sells local whole raw fish fresh off the boat and the other part is a collection of dozens an open air restaurants selling prepared fresh seafood. It draws both locals and tourists alike. We tried the ceviche and whole fried red snapper at one... More

There are 2 areas here; one is the actual Mercado (Market) where fresh fish and seafood is sold. The boats dock next door at the pier, and fresh fish is available for sale; all kinds of seafood. Good place to walk thru and take in the atmosphere. Or buy fresh seafood here. Outside the Mercado, is where all the open... More

The Mercado has lots of different restaurants offering mainly the same options but each with its own specialty. We tried several during our trip and all we're good. We had fish ceviche that was great and only for a $1. The ceviche is different than most in Mexico and the US as it's mainly lemon and very fresh fish and... More

One of my favorite places in Panama City. Go there, walk through the fish market and eat a cevice in one of the restaurants outside

If you have the ability to cook or just want a cup of fantastic and fresh ceviche...this is the place to go. You even have the choice of selecting a filet and having it cooked while you wait. If you have never been to a real seafood market...boat to stall...this is it. Purchased Corvina filet for $3.00/lb, fresh #20 cleaned... More

Description
Seafood plays a central role in Panama City dining—and no place captures it better than the Mercado de Mariscos. At this fish market, you’ll literally bump into fishermen carrying their catches and taking them to the many vendors inside. Be sure to order an affordable and super-fresh cup of ceviche on the first floor—or head to the super-casual but delicious sit-down seafood eatery upstairs.
