The service was very distant and uninspired. Also after serving dinner nobody came to see if we wanted more drinks than the initial one, while it wasn’t crowded at all, actually relatively empty. The sushi and sashimi was average to OK but none of the...dishes was great or stood out in any way. Clearly not very expensive fish, very dull spices and flavoring. This would have been OK at a budget chain restaurant. With a medium priced sushi restaurant I would have been somewhat disappointed. So with its high premium pricing we felt this restaurant really doesn’t deliver anywhere near the expectations it sets. Not recommended.More

Kamakura in Colonia Escalon in San Salvador in the best Japanese restaurant in town. The food, location and the service are excellent. Try their saki warm or cold. The new dish with squid and caviar is great.

We came to this restaurant invited by our Salvadoran colleagues. And it was a really good choice, the food was really delicious and the owner himself came to say hello. Very friendly environment.

A wide variety of selections on the menu of authentic japanese cousine, from sushi and sashimi to noodle soups and tempura. Excellent service and great food at a very reasonable prices. Family atmosphere for lunch or dinner.

I took the train to Kamakura from the Yokohama train station. The Information kiosk at the station was helpful and staff spoke English. No difficulty getting the train. Fare was reasonable but I neede a local to help me with the ticket machines (no problem...getting helpful Japanese people to help!). Once in Kamkura, go to the station's information desk to get walking directions to the great Buddha and other shrines, gardens, and temples. A must see...iconic structures and the Buddha is a must-see. Only a small price for a ticket to the shrine (about $2). The statue is breathtaking. The street up to the Buddha is full of street eats and shops where local artisans sell their unique wares and souvenirs. The smaller shops are particuly interesting - and the prices are very reasonable. Walking trails are well laid-out and the train from the giant Buddha to the main train station & other more central attractions is frequent. Weekends are crowded but manageable. I went when hydrangias were in bloom - so beautiful. I'd visit again (and again) and see other shrines and temples in this old town full of japanese culture and friendly residents.More

I used to visit this place very often but this last visit really wasn’t up to par with my previous experience. The fish was not as fresh! Hope they improve! Still a good option!

If you like sushi/Japanese food this is if not the best in the top 3 in El Salvador, we had some pork dimples as entree, we had some rolls the volcano and another that was espectacular. We has some dessert tempura with vanilla ice cream.

I had heard a whole lot about this restaurant since I am a well know sushi lover, today babe took me as he was in the mood for ramen and I’m always down for sushi in general. My expectations were high and I was certainly...not disappointed. My expectations were surpassed by far. I have had sushi in many places not just in El Salvador but other countries and I can tell you this was by far THE BEST! Ramen was amazing, the place was charming and cozy... awesome date night after a long day at work. If you’re not a sushi person or a ramen person, no need to worry, they have a huge variety of dishes to choose from. Do yourself a favor and give it a try if you haven’t.More

I came for dinner, very impressed by the look of the establishment.original. I ordered a combination of sushi, some tasty other a bit dry. I also ordered the combination seafood tempura, way too much vegetables ,little seafood. The plate seemed to have been left a bit too long on...the fryer,I could taste the oil. Overall, room for improvement, attention on detail, pricey so food should meet expectations.More
