I decided to try the lunch buffet while staying at Le Meridien as part of a post-cruise package. There were two price choices- a salad bar ($22) and a hot bar ($26). The hot bar consisted of cold food inside warming covers; the cold bar...consisted of shredded lettuce, shredded carrots and unappealing condiments! A dessert bar was offered for an additional cost. Service was virtually non-existant and unfriendly. I had to flag down someone to pay my check. A better lunch bet would be to take the five minute walk outside the hotel complex to the near-by grocery store and purchase food there or stop in at the cafe in the same shopping center.More

We made reservations for the Friday night buffet and show. The dinner was great and the Polynesian show was everything we hoped it would be. It was a fun evening for everyone. I would recommend restaurant and show to anyone. A lot of fun!!

Fifty dollars for a drink and a terrible seafood stew. Very slow service as I didn't sit where they wanted. Twenty minutes to get the drink. Very weak drink. Seafood did not taste fresh.

We stayed overnight at LeMeridien Tahiti on the way in and out of Bora Bora for our wedding. As a platinum SPG guest we received the complimentary continental breakfast each morning at La Plantation (but not worth the going $40pp rate). It was the typical...pastries, mediocre/bready croissants (which should be a high crime and sin in a French hotel). A few flies and slow/inattentive service from "can't be bothered" waitresses who seemed more interested in chatting/laughing amongst themselves than attending to guests). The view of the koi pond, patio and beach was nice. I think some strong ceiling fans might help with the flies. It was quite remarkable to note the stark difference in better quality for the breakfast buffet at LeMeridien Bora Bora (which I thought had the same ownership as Tahiti)...More

One never expects too much from hotel restaurants but the view and location of La Plantation at Le Meridian lured us in. We went around 8 PM and they were only mildly busy (less than 50% of tables occupied) yet it took over 5 minutes...for someone to notice us at the host stand and another 10 minutes to visited by a server once seated. We're very used to Polynesian speed (and like it, in fact) but found this very slow even by that standard. It was also especially bothersome because so many service staff passed by our table and seemed to be working hard to not make eye contact. Once the order was taken the food came out oddly: we ordered 1 app to share and 4 mains (4 people). They brought the app and 2 of the mains with the second two mains not arriving for 30 minutes. I'm sure it was a simple error in the ordering, but it made for a very long and odd meal. To their credit, the quality of the food ranged between mediocre (the meatballs and burger) to quite good (the meat mixed plate and au gratin potatoes). We wouldn't have returned to the restaurant but as it turned out our flight was cancelled and the only food vouchers we were offered were for this restaurant. We arrived at 2:30 PM for lunch and were told that the kitchen closed at 2:15. Despite having vouchers only good there, they were unable to help us except to offer us a panini (just one option - really) which was dry and very poor quality. We complained about this to the manager who compensated us with a free dessert (which oddly became available despite the kitchen being closed). To their credit, the dessert was excellent.More

Went here since it's in our hotel and were very disappointed. We politely complained to the hotel afterwards who called the restaurant and refunded nearly all of or cost which I really appreciate and bodes well for the hotel itself, but when we initially raised...the same issues to who I believe was the restaurant manager, his response was simply "okay ". So since we needed the hotel to intervene, I can't even give the restaurant credit for addressing the issue. Here's a summary of the problems: 1) Service: Staff was perfectly nice but unfortunately didn't seem to be trained in performing their jobs. The best way I can describe it is they seemed confused, eg who should take whose order and when, like they were walking around without direction. 2) Speed: Largely as a result of the above, the food came out very slowly. We only ordered one course, but as an example, the table next to us noted to the manager - who they had to walk up and request - how it took 25 minutes to get their salad after ordering (which if it was like for us, took a good 15 minutes as well) and they still hadn't been asked for their dinner order at that time. The manager took their order then; about 15 minutes later their original waitress came to take their dinner order. Not only does this show the delay but also the confusion noted above. 3) Accuracy: We just ordered two items of food - a charcuterie platter and cheese platter. There were supposed to be 3 meats on the charcuterie, and the cheese was supposed to come with "farmhouse bread". There were only 2 meats and no bread. The waitress did offer to bring bread, but the meat had what looked like bread so we said no - turned out it was largely buttered garlic bread so not good for eating cheese/meat with. By the time we could get her attention to say yes to the bread, we were almost done - and she just brought a couple of the dinner rolls that everyone gets which were far too hard to be useful for cheese/meat. 4) Food: To top it off, the food wasn't so good either. The dinner rolls were rock hard. The charcuterie meats were really oily and bland. And the cheeses were okay but nothing special.More

We had dinner here while staying at the hotel. This was the only dining option nearby other than room service, so that made the choice easy! We ended up waiting about 10 minutes until we could flag down a staff member and ask for a...table, but when we were seated it was right by the lovely lily pad-covered koi pond, so that was nice. Breads and chilled, bottled water were brought to our table, which was another nice touch, although we later found out that the water was charged to our bill. After we ordered, it was around a 30 minute wait until the food arrived - a little longer than we would have expected for a couple of burgers. The food itself was tasty but not exceptional and came in huge portion sizes, which neither of us were able to finish. We didn't bother with dessert because we didn't want to wait around any longer. We also returned for a breakfast the next day that was included in the room price and again ended up waiting quite a while to be seated, although this time it was self-service so fewer delays then!More
