I had lunch a Qanela while running some errands in Urubamba. The place is attractive and well appointed. I was the only customer and thought I could catch up on some e-mails. The only place to get connectivity was at the bar where the manager had taken over to do paperwork. I was unable to connect. The food is prepared... More

We had a reservation at another restaurant, but they had a problem and cancelled on us earlier in the day. The hotel recommended this restaurant. Perhaps they were unprepared for a group of 11, but service was amazingly slow (even after taking into account that Peruvian dining is more relaxed than in US). It was 45 minutes after we ordered... This charming restaurant is just a block off the main plaza in Urubamba, yet it seems tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city square. The ambience is old-world, but the menu reflects Peru's recent rise in world-class culinary skills. We enjoyed dinner next to the fieldstone fireplace but thought of returning for lunch in the back yard near... More

An oasis of style and calm with a garden in bloom. Unfussy style and good service. Well worth a visit. Good vegetarian selection

We enjoyed eating in this cozy restaurant me and my children. Well attended, family and all rich dishes without exception. Well prepared and seasoned. The lazana of aji de gallina

Very nice little restaurant with a small garden area just big enough to allow children to run around a bit. The food is very good, all natural ingredients freshly prepared. Service is very nice and quick, all in all a very recommendable place to eat out. The only drawback is the price level for rather small portions, very much comparable... More

We were recommended this amazing restaurant by the gate keeper at our hotel in Urubamba. A hard place to just stumble upon. Tried some pretty exotic foods. We received an amazing complementary fava bean dish, which was delicious. Our entree and salad were all great too.

We went to Qanela twice on the recommendation of our hotel manager--we stumbled in for a late lunch one day and liked it so much--our kids espeically--that we made a point of going back for dinner later in the week. Everything was delicious--the chicharrones & the quinoa stew in particular.

I am so glad that our hotel recommended this place because we really enjoyed every bite. The alpaca skewers were amazing along with the chicken curry. The only down side were the desserts. The brownie was dry and the apple pie was just ok. But I would definitely go back. Next time I would skip dessert.
