This is a pricey lunch but it's in a 5 star hotel and it is beautiful. We had an excellent glass of wine (best in Cusco) and the food was tasty. The service was outstanding. I've seen some other reviews that the food was bad but ours wasn't.

On our last day in Cusco, (april 9) my husband, my two daughters and me, decided to have lunch at the restaurant of the hotel El Monasterio. Several friends have recommended us this place. The place is beautiful and the service was great! But the food was terrible! What a disappointment!!! I had a Quinotto with asparragus and mushrooms (... More

Lunch is pricey however the house special grilled chicken sandwich served open face with grilled zucchini, onions, bacon, tomatoes and a yellow pepper sauce was one of the best lunches I've had in my life. My wife's grilled chicken club was also incredible. We don't normally get poetic about sandwiches. View of the monastery courtyard is also beautiful.

We were offered the only option of a set menu with a choice of vegetarian or not, that included five courses. Nice tasting experience, with one course being heavenly delicious (duck carpaccio) and others quite average. Very impressive setting, nice, but nothing out of the ordinary food.

I found my dinner experience at Illariy to be impressive, the hotel itself is amazing and the setting of the restaurant - overlooking the courtyard - is beautiful. My waiter was professional and attentive. I ordered the guinea pig and it was done really well, almost like a duck confit, but a little gamy-er, the baby corn had a wonderfully... More

We thought making a trip to an Oriteal Express hotel would be one of finer dining moments in Peru but we were extremly disappointed. Bland tasting food that was simply overpriced however great wait staff but I would advise anyone who is not staying there to go somewhere else. Fortunately, it was a beautiful hotel with the restaurant sitting and... More

As part of the package we booked at Hotel Monasterio, we were entitled to a meal at the Illariy restaurant. We opted to wait a few days after our arrival to book the restaurant in order to make sure the altitude had soaked in. The setting is absolutely wonderful with the restaurant facing the courtyard of the hotel. It is... More

The restaurant was a wonderful setting for a nice romantic evening, but the food was seriously lacking. The presentation was good as was the service, but I could have had a better meal for a far cheaper price at many location throughout the city. My advice would be to choose somewhere else. I’ve read that the Hotel Monasterio is the... More
