We ate here on our first night, on recommendation of the reception from our hostel and it was a good choice. It was not cheap, but the meat was very well prepared and the rest of our meal was good as well. The service was friendly and quick.

Four family members were very happy with the entire eating experience. The staff members were helpful, very efficient, and the food and drinks were a delight. 3 of the 4 diners spoke Spanish but I do not. All members of our party felt that what we chose were just as described. All the meat dishes were perfect!

Came here twice during a 4 day visit. The food is great, tender meat and smart combinations making this place also original compared to other resto's in AQP. The waiters are very friendly and helpful, price for all this is reasonable although not the cheapest in town.

You will go back a second time it is that good. The alpaca steak is amazing. The homemade breads and butter and olive tepenade delicious. Not to mention the pumpkin soup-wow. Prepare to be in culinary heaven. Great service too!

Have never had a bad meal at ZigZag. This time I had the Anticucho (marinated beef hearts) with creamy cheesy quinoa and a delicious ratatouille as side dishes. Others at our table and the three meats platter (alpaca, beef and pork) which were also excellent. Pisco sours are very good

I've been travelling in Ecuador and Peru for almost eight weeks now and this is the best meal I've had so far. Great ambience in this quiet location with French-style service and cooking but using local ingredients in very creative ways. My appetizer was a quinua salad with shrimp in the shape of a pyramid surrounded artistically by slices of... More

My wife & I had dinner 2 nights ago. Very attractive venue and pleasant welcome. I had duck as a main course: it was tough which is quite an achievement with duck fillet. As a desert, I had the cheese platter. It was a real rigmarole to get them to understand my request to take the cheese out of the... More

One of the best places to eat around Main Square. The restaurant is located in a beautiful street. Decor and food are both excellent. Highly recommend. It is wise to make an advance booking. they usually are booked.

The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish. This culinary concept was generated specially by the restaurant's proprietor and Chef, Michel Hediger from Switzerland. During the course of many years in Arequipa, Peru, he has developed an original gastronomic proposal which enables one to savour different kinds of food prepared in an exclusive, healthy and very natural style, so that the restaurant's customers might compare and enjoy the country's different flavours. Located in the Historic Centre of Arequipa, opposite the lovely Plaza San Francisco, the Zig Zag Restaurant, with its impressive cast iron staircase designed by the famous French architect Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, is a unique place to enjoy a gastronomic evening with a difference.
