Highly Recommended. A bit upscale but one of the best restaurants in Peru. My meat selection was served on a hot lava stone, so that you could still sear the meat to your liking. The side dishes, appetizer and wine selection were perfect. Daphne our...More

My boyfriend and I visited after reading many good reviews. We went for an early dinner to avoid the disappointment of not getting a table (most tables are resevered for pre bookings). We ordered the fondue and some wine to share and were not disappointed...More

Delicious food, we had a trio of meat and trout filet as a main dish, served with quinoa rice, salad and potatoes. The taste was excellent and the presentation very nice. The hot stone kept the food warm. The service was accurate and attentive. So...More

The restaurant with stairs designed by none other than Eifel himself, the restaurant is very beautiful. The food that is served is of very high quality. This place feels like it could have a Michelin Star.

We had a recommendation from a walking tour guide for this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were accommodating with the change to our party size and provided excellent advice. The food was delicious and I’d highly recommend, if we’d been staying another night...More

On a mid-October Friday night we were lucky to stumble across this place and get possibly the last table around 8:15pm. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't outrageous and the food was high quality, my 3 meats main course was served sizzling on a hotplate....More

We dined here on our last evening in Arequipa, and it was a great choice. Our starters, main meal, and desert were all excellent. Service was quick and attentive, the atmosphere and decoration were perfect. Would definitely recommend.

The mixed meat plate was not that special. In fact, it was difficult to taste the difference between the meats. Also, the gfs fish was undercooked. Good service and nice wine, though

Went here on our first night in Arequipa. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were fortunately to grab what was perhaps the last table in the joint. Both the rack of lamb and the alpaca left us feeling quite satisfied.

We went here as it was part of our tour with Lima Tours and we had a 3 course set menu. The menu we had was fantastic. Really loved eating the meat from the volcanic stones. It was quite fun, the food was also tasty....More

The Alpandina dishes offered by the Zig Zag Restaurant are the result of a creative culinary fusion deeply rooted in the mountains, where the sun endows foodstuffs with energy and balanced components. The dishes most representative of Alpandino gastronomy arise from a marvellous synthesis of unique time-hallowed ingredients from all over Peru, combined with ancient and modern culinary techniques from the Alps and the Andes. One of the results is our great speciality: Volcanic-Stone-Cooked Meats and Fish. This culinary concept was generated specially by the restaurant's proprietor and Chef, Michel Hediger from Switzerland. During the course of many years in Arequipa, Peru, he has developed an original gastronomic proposal which enables one to savour different kinds of food prepared in an exclusive, healthy and very natural style, so that the restaurant's customers might compare and enjoy the country's different flavours. Located in the Historic Centre of Arequipa, opposite the lovely Plaza San Francisco, the Zig Zag Restaurant, with its impressive cast iron staircase designed by the famous French architect Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, is a unique place to enjoy a gastronomic evening with a difference.
