We thoroughly enjoyed the brunch we had at La Parrillada -- soup, salad, small t-bone steaks, veggies and drinks -- and were surprised at the cost, $9.00 for both of us. The server we had spoke little English, but we did not have any trouble ordering. The food was fantastic and the steaks so tender and juicy, one could cut... More

Few people realize that La Parrillada offers a special menu for people on their birthdays. I recently celebrated my birthday. I ordered the churrasco, which is a skirt steak. It was reasonably sized and well prepared. But with the steak came a serving of french fries, a serving of rice, and a salad. On top of the rice were two... More

La Parillada offers a nice variety of meat dishes. My favorite is their filet mignon, but their sausages are good too. On few occasions we ordered bottles of wine (always good!) and we had a good cold beer. This place is not for vegetarians! I like the ambience especially the fire place...the service is very kind. I have never seen... More

This restaurant was recommended as having the best steak in Cuenca. NOT. Four of us each ordered different cuts and not one was any good. Rib eye, T-bone, filet mignon and a house cut....each was tough and chewy. Papa fritos, ordered extra well done were twice as thick as steak fries and not even close to done. One person ordered... Great Almuerzo in the Solano area. We have eaten here twice and both times our food was great and the service was quick. There is a lot of seating in this restaurant. If it’s hot out don’t sit under the skylight, it gets a little warm :). We had a cheese and potato soup, rolls, chicken with mushroom gravy, Spanish... More

We have been to La Parrillada a few times and enjoyed it every time. The grilled meat is fabulous - tender, juicy and very tasty! Almuerzos (set lunch plate) is more expensive than most other restaurants but you get what you pay for and we did not hesitate to pay the less than $5 charge for a delicious meal. Another... More

We've been there before; in fact, it's one of our favorite places to eat in Cuenca. This time the food was only so-so, luke warm. What made matters worse, when it came time to pay our bill, we found out that they no longer accept Diners' Club, Discover, or Amex. The best thing about the meal was the lemonade.

Sunday buffets are not a big thing here in Cuenca, so when you find one, you go back again. Food was delicious as usual and the cost had risen only slightly since our previous visit. There was a small problem with Discover and Amex - they hoped to have that resolved the next day. We had all the beef, chicken,... More

We went to the Sunday buffet at 2pm. The options were rice, chips, chicken, pork, steak, sausages and 2 salads. The meat was sitting out in the open and not being kept warm. It was all cold, dry and looked like it had been there since they opened at 12:30pm. It looked nothing like the very misleading photos on their... More

My wife and went here. She had a lomo fino and I had the chicken. Both were very mediocre. We expect much more from a grill that specializes in such food. The service was fine and the drinks were the usual price found throughout Cuenca.
