If you want a very special and unforgettable experience don't miss Octava de Corpus. It is located in the heart of the historic district. The old colonial home is converted to a restaurant with each room unique and distinctive. It is a feast for the eyes with artwork and striking features. Jaime will assure your personal experience with a tour... More

This restaurant is unique in all forms. I really loved the quality of the meat and the selection of wines! Yesterday was seriously the best wine I've ever had (very fine wine: 2 bottles costing $5000!) The owner of the restaurant is extremely friendly and compassionate and the waiter was also very nice and disciplined! The environment is very calm,... More

Wandering around town, just slightly away from the centre we passed this place and thought it looked interesting. Luckily we booked, not that it couldn’t have easily accommodated us on a Wednesday evening but it did give Jamie several hours to get his head around the idea of a vegetarian customer. Inside it is just as described, the creased paper... More

There's no doubt that the restaurant itself is beautiful but that really was it. I had a salad and langoustine (which are just prawns really) both are horrible. I wanted a glass of white wine because of the high altitude and asked them to recommend. They brought me a half bottle of white wine which costs 45 usd. I couldn't... More

What a delightful place. We enjoyed it so much we went back twice during our stay. It is very cozy, has a great menu and the host and wait staff are very attentive and friendly. Great wine selection. In fact the host let the guys go down into the wine cellar and pick out a wine. Can't say enough about... More

We didn't have a reservation but we also had to wait outside until someone walked by the door and could hear us knocking. This restaurant is a little off the main drag but not by much. A lot of the food we encountered in Ecuador was heavily fried (even "vegetable plates" were dripping in oil) - the dinner we had... More

While the decor is certainly impressive, this was an extremely disappointing dining experience. The owner's attentiveness soon became what in retrospect was very much like used-car salesmanship. His recommendations on the menu were consistently whatever the most expensive items on the menu were - and they all turned out to be pretty poor concoctions that tasted more like they came... More

The place is amazingly decorated, food is exquisite, you almost chose what you want and the chef get it done, the cellar is a must see, you go downstairs with the owner and check the bottles until you chose what you want during a very nice conversation - incredible evening!!

Sunday is not a great evening for restaurants in Quito and after much searching with our friend (who is from Quito) we were overwhelmed by this lovely place. It is like a quirky museum in a colonial house in a really beautiful street in the historic centre of the city. It is on two levels with a wine cellar that... More

This is an experience not to be missed! The food is quite good, and the prices - while expensive for Quito - would pass for mid-range in the USA. What really sets Otava de Corpus apart from other dining experiences is the restaurant decor. You feel like you have arrived at a 19th century dinner party. Jaime's collection of artwork... More
