My Chilean host took me to the Jewel of India. We were warmly welcomed by the owner himself. The place is very neat and authentic- a very pleasant first sight. We started with a vegetarian starter platter. The service was quick and the starters extremely delicious! We both had vegetarian executive lunch. Both the selected curries were well made. The... Although I don't have much experience with Indian food, the waitress helped us to understand the menú and we finally ordered a variety of plates. There were all very tasty and colorful. Mostly served inside a sauce, for example the chicken was in small pieces in a sauce of almonds. Service was good although rather slow. We were there for... More

Good Indian cuisine in Santiago-the mango lassi was great! I liked the ambience but would have preferred something more traditional on the tv screen-watching skimpily clad actresses gyrating in the background does not make it very classy as clashes with the overall Indian vibe they want to create. Definitely worth going there if you crave some spicy food

As an Indian studying in Santiago, it can be a bit difficult to get by, since the Chilean food is not really on the flavourful side. However, this place transported me back home for the few hours I spent there. On the other hand, its quite expensive, but also worth every peso nevertheless.

We had read such good reviews of this place but were disappointed. The pappadum portion was tiny and way over-priced, the curry was very average. Underspiced and more like a tomato sauce than a curry. Naan underdone. Expensive for what it was and lacking the flavour and imagination of curries back home.

Indian resturant Indian owner 100% Indian cooks 100% import of condiments from India. Well, with 2000 plus comments, I am surprised that my client is complaining about curry much better back home. Your back home transported Indian food from India and not from Ireland I guess and adjusted to there taste. We have brits visiting my property and they are... More

It is sad to say that it is not what it used to be. The spices where unbalanced and nothing was too great.

It is not only the food that excels but also the decoration, the personalized attention, and all the details that makes you feel that you travelled to India for a night. We went with 4 friends and were pleasantly surprised to see how extensive the menu is. We were greeted by the owner, who is always delighted to hear your feedback. Everything we had there was excellent. We eat (and cook) a lot of Indian food at home and give Jewel of India top marks. Next visit to Santiago, we will... More

An excellent large and quite swanky Indian restaurant in a very nice neighbourhood. Perfect service and excellent food, very well prepared and authentic. Just a note of caution, the portions are large. The service is first class and the owner a gentleman.
