My wife and I were taken to El Galeon by our tour guide as part of a city tour. We ate from a set menu and our guide seemed to know many of the staff, so I think that worked to our benefit based on reading some of the other reviews. The mixed seafood platter was great and the wine... More

Loved the Centolla here! Great empanadas and chupe. You can visit the central market where you can buy excellent and super fresh fish and seafood! Recommended!

Herded here by our tour guide and we were less than impressed. We tried the King Crab which cost a fortune only to find it was frozen and not very appetising. The decor was dated and we were continually interrupted by street vendors trying to sell us stuff we didn't need or want. If in Santiago there are far better... More

This was a disappointment. The fish market next door is an amazing display of fresh seafood. This restaurant however chooses to serve mediocre entrees, badly presented. Even their Pisco Sours were among the worst we had in Santiago.

We are here on a walking tour of Santiago but it's really a tourist trap. Whilst it's interesting to see the market, I wouldn't recommend eating in it when Santiago offers so many other great places to indulge.

My first review, one would think this would be an honour. Unfortunately in this case, it is not. Having tried cuisine across Santiago and finally caving into this tourist eating area, we found ourselves at El Galeon. Polite staff (albeit no English despite their salemab promoting otherwise) who seemed to have started the job only yesterday. I have never seen... More

After being recommended this restaurant on the basis that it had good food and was reasonable value we were looking forward to this visit. We had ordered a mixed plate but was assured by the waiter that this was not enough and that he'd also recommend to get the king crab. First plate came out and it was huge, enough... More

Omg we discovered this place just walking around and had dinner here. Omg the seafood (the crab) was huge and sooo good. They cut it open for u so all u have to do is just eat it. I would definitely recommend this place. It's to die for. The only downside is the sides wasn't that good or tasty but... More

The food is tasty and fresh. Good service. The price point is beyond what it needs to be. This is a tourist trap. There are better places in Santiago with a better price point.

The concierge at our hotel recommended El Galeon. Walked through the market just to make sure we were not missing out on any other eats and then headed in. We ordered the ceviche along with a dish each. Portions were huge! I thought I would get a "typical" serving of ceviche, but it was a stew like portion. While eating,... More
