Mamusia is a traditional location to enjoy some of the best sandwiches and pastries in Puerto Varas and the whole of Los Lagos Region of Chile. I have visited P. Varas many times and I always try to make time for a stop at this pleasant cafe. Highly recommended.

Cafe Mamusia is on the main drag in Puerto Varas with both indoor and outside seating. As a dog lover (and there must be two dogs to every Chilean alive) we like to sit out so that we can feed some of the less happy looking animals...of which there are also a great deal. We had two different waitresses, but... More

My friends took me out for lunch claiming that they have never been disappointed at Cafe Mamusia. We enjoyed excellent service and feasted on the generous luncheon specials. Each special of the day includes homemade soup or a generous portion of fresh salad. A basket of warm, homemade rolls served with butter was included. I ordered the baked chicken special... More

Chilenos are served before any foreigners even when foreigners arrived first and waited a long time! Owners are prejudiced and unfriendly. Waiters are all asleep, lazy, and inattentive!

Exactly what was needed. A great breakfast of perfectly cooked scramblers, lots of toast and tea. Delighted that they offered to top up our tea with hot water. The first South Americans to do so. They have a large wooden terrace out the front but we didn't have the weather for it so sat at the large window at the... More

We come here every time we visit Puerto Varas..alway have coffee here in the morning and often a snack if we feel the need. The staff are super...polite, smiling and mostly a little older. There are two large ladies at the till who can be rather abrupt....but just ignore them and enjoy the cafe. We see the same locals each... More

We paid a visit on a busy Saturday lunchtime and the cafe was packed. After sitting down we noticed the huge platefuls of food being served and decided it might be a bit much so settled on the Asparagus soup followed by apple strudel. We had a bit of a wait, but when the soup arrive we realised it was... More

If a tourist asked me where to eat something in Puerto Varas, I would never ever recommend this place. The owner's mother thinks that discrimination and mistreating her customers every time they ask for something or Don't look fancy enough is the right thing to do. She has no shame to be mean to old people either. Apart from that,... More

It was a nice surprise finding this cafe open late. Nice family atmosphere, good food, coffee and service.

We came for dinner (close to 7pm) and were told that we couldn't order majority entrees from main dishes section as they are only served until 5 pm. We were very surprised as we haven't had that issue in Chile before. I ended up splitting a meat platter with my dad which was okay. My husband had a sandwich and... More
