Had lunch at Hyatt Hotel's Mezza 9 restaurant; nice ambience, open concept; you see food being prepared at various stations. Set lunch was good with the new menu. We had halibut , pan fried on a bed of cooked vegetables. Good combination of healthy foods.

This place is a large sensational concept but really comfortable restaurant which has found its way to other Grand Hyatt's including China. I suspect from the success of this one which I've been visiting for almost 20 years, it was undergoing even more multi-million dollar updates when we were there - they were creating a whole new Gin & Wine... Regular visitor but. It since they changed the layout... felt terribly cramped as you go towards the Chinese roast section. So much so that at one point there seals a gap of less than 0.5 between the back of a chair and the serving station... you had for someone to serve themselves and move to get past.... so after a... I had my meals there three times. Always ordering different things and loving it. I did not feel like going anywhere for my meals. The food was fresh and tasty. Staff polite efficient and warm. I did not have sweets but they looked very inviting and if you are chocoholic, watch out! Ravi and Jaya are delightful. Thank you Mezze9.

We went here for dinner one night, I heard they served the famous Singapore chilli crab (sadly not), so went over. Has a strict dress code, slightly stiff wait staff, found them a bit smug, the food and service was so so, we had sushi ( 3 on 5), crab cakes (2 on 5), Tom Yum (2 on 5), the... More

Highly popular restaurant with a well regarded Chinese kitchen. We skipped the Chinese food for other options. The Wagyu steaks were great. The Brown Crab Salad was over-dressed, and The White Asparagus with Hollandaise was good; slightly bitter but acceptable.

Great food and atmosphere. Had a late dinner with the group here following the horse race. The service was superb and put up with the group even though a few of us had a few drinks

So you want to try a hotel brunch. A fancy one. One that goes the extra mile, feels special. Search no more! This brunch has it all: buckets of lobster claws! miles of sushi! frozen-nitrogen desserts! free-flow champagne -- the good stuff! Hyatt in general, still operating like they were in the 80s in that all their food and beverage outlets still forbids customers who wore hats or caps. I was one who was asked to take off my headwear on many occasions and in different Hyatt hotels in Hong Kong and in Singapore, which spoilt my day on those occasions. I was very upset then and had a number of those occasions questioning the floor managers/watiresses at the F&B outlets on why then the women mainly the Japanese tourists were allowed to wear their hats.

In this 21st century and for a Western hotel like Hyatt, it seems somehow they have not evolved with the times or they have a bias against men wearing cabs or hats. Casual wear is the norm nowadays and afterall, they forgot that they are offering and serving food and beverages, and not to judge and discipline their seated customers on what they can or cannot wear especially a causal cap. It's outright discrimination.

Even my Amercian friends who were with me at the time, couldn't believe it and in fact told the manager to explain what is so offensive about wearing the hat or cap that Hyatt has to have such a silly policy. My Amercian friends also asked which past century did the Hyatt management came from?

Well, luckily today, we are spoilt for choice of many F&B outlets throughout Singapore. Perhaps, the new top management of Hyatt can change their mindset and stopped this bias policy. The same calls to all other snobbish hotels and F&B outlets to do the same. Casual wear is the norm and a cap or hat is not offensive unless they carried offensive or undesired slogans or images. Same with sloppily dressed and over-exposed. Otherwise, no public F&B outlets including hotels should be allowed to impose such a ban.
