Singapore has many Din Tai Fung outlets now as this outfit has been around for quite some time. Originating from Taiwan, the food is still sufficiently authentic Chinese.
Selection is very wide so do bring a chinese friend along if you are not familiar with chinese food.
The food quality is good and very consistent, so just go to the outlet nearest where you are. Service is pretty quick; your food will be served within 15 minutes.
Price is reasonable, but not cheap. A typical meal for 6 person will set you back 100-200Sing.
For drinks, just order a pot of tea. Its cheap and goes well with the food you will be eating. If you are not familiar with tea type, choose Jasmine. Its light and easy on the palate.

As much as we loved the hawker centers we knew we had to have soup dumplings during our trip to Asia and Din Tai Fung did not disappoint. Busy location in Raffles Mall near our hotel. We also ordered the sautéed greens, pork chop and fried rice which were really delicious as well. Wait was not that long and they give you a menu and paper to order while you are waiting for your table. Would definitely recommend.

We have eaten at two of the franchises. Both provided outstanding quality of food. The kitchen is open and impeccably clean. The food is ordered by placing ticks on an order sheet next to the items you wish. The food appears all at once and the plates are cleared almost immediately after you finish the item.
Had the best hot and sour soup, incredibly delicious dumplings and a great pork chop. The menu is extensive. Great value.

We popped into here for dinner one night having visited a number of years ago when last in Singapore. This time we had wantons, steamed dumplings and noodles. All very tasty and served very quickly.
Service of friendly and helpful.
Upon entering you're given a menu and an ordering sheet. Check the menu, find the item number of the dish you want, and make an entry alongside the relevant number. Once you've finished a staff member will come along and take the order sheet off to start prep. A good system that works well.

I have been coming to this restaurant for 10 years, the service has changed in the past 6 months . It Appears that they may have changed management ? The staff were good but not as friendly when they use to wear their black uniforms ! It’s more casual now and the food is good still I always order the 1504 and the duck spring roll and the veg and pork noodle soup and tea
. The cost has risen which is to be expected

I absolutely love this place. It had been 7yrs since I had been in Singapore so I couldn't wait to come back here for their delicious dim sum and they did not disappoint. Since my last visit they now have you scan with your phone to get a place in the que which works very efficiently and you also download menu and order this way. I actually went to 3 different locations throughout my week stay for lunch. I still love Raffles City the best, ( I think its because its the first one I ever tried as the food is consistent and equally delicious across all branches). As a solo dinner I love to be able to watch them making the dim sum but also all the tables around me sharing all the dishes on offer. I do not eat meat so I am limited to what I get so I always get the Steamed Vegetarian Dumplings (6pcs) & Steamed Angled Gourd & Shrimp Long Bao(6pcs). Also each time I had a different side dish, Oriental Salad in special vinegar dressing, Crunchy mini Cucumber in spicy sauce & stir fried Dou Miao with Garlic all delicious. I always get drinking cold water & hot jasmine tea as they are both free flow for a fixed price, (Marina Bay Sands branch only had pots of tea though). Although I do not eat meat I enjoy watching other people devour tasty looking dishes such as the Original Shanghainese Drunken Chicken. Let's hope it won't be another 7 years before I'm back in Singapore, maybe they'll open a branch in Dublin.

The food, when it did arrive, was very good and up to Din Tai Fung's standards.
However, the Xiao Long Bao's took 45 minutes per serving to arrive after ordering. At no time did the staff notify us that it will take this long.
When we tried to cancel it, they said it was already too late (after 40 minutes of waiting). We came at a quiet time around 2pm on a weekday, so there was only a few tables but a decent amount of staff waiting around.
I can't explain why the food took so long to come out.

Used to eat at DTFa lot but my goodness how its gone downhill. So many...not available...on the menu
Service painfully slow and staff couldn't care less. Asked for the bowls missing from our place setting. They brought 10 minutes after we finished. Beef soup was awful

The famous xiaolongbao restaurant chain from taiwan. Besides the dumplings, most of the other dishes are pretty good too - noodles, fried rice, and beef noodles of course
Only the taiwan branches have good service. All international branches are not trained in this aspect

I've had some good experiences with Din Tai Fung in Australia and Asia and was excited to have the opportunity to dine at the Centrepoint London branch. Unfortunately the food was average and the entire setup was pretentious. The spicy pork wontons were delicious but everything else was strictly average. There was nothing wrong with the food but you could get better for less elsewhere. The lifts and washroom taps not working didn't help improve the experience.

Din Tai Fung is known for its dim sum and I concur that they are amazing.
Service is quick but the dim sum can take some time as they are freshly made on the premises.
The manager was very helpful and friendly.

The thing about Din Tai Fung is that they do everything perfectly. The tea. The dumplings. Whatever. It's not that they serve amazing dishes. It's that they do everything exactly as it should be done.
My wife and I had various dumplings, the cucumber salad...I can't remember everything now, but it was all just right.
They serve iced Earl Grey tea, very strong and very sweet. I have been trying to replicate it at home, but Din Tai Fung is just too good.
The down side: crowded, you have to wait, and they run out of things. Don't go to Raffles City. Go to the Suntec Din Tai Fung. It's way less crowded. You can walk right in. Suntec is a pleasant walk away.
The tables are small, so go for the food, not the furniture.

Went there with a local friend, as it was well located (in Raffles City). We were lucky not to have to queue and were given a table and menus. Food came quickly and was delicious. But the restaurant offers no wine at all, which is a pity, particularly when you don't enjoy so much beer. On the fun side, there is robot bringing some of the dishes.

I remember going years ago and the food was great but this time round i felt a bit disappointed by the whole experience. We ordered a variety of dumplings and the chicken were the best. The dumplings are beautifully made and it's great to see the kitchen staff in action. I felt like this place has become more of a chain now. Family friendly but I probably wouldn't eat there again for the price as well not sure it was worth it.

Great service and yum food!
The only thing that disappoints about this restaurant is that most items have pork and you cannot choose many items that don’t…
Service is great, the staff was very attentive to my request and made sure I ordered what I wanted.
Fast delivery of items and fresh food!
Enjoy !
