We last visited the tiffin room at Raffles a few years ago. We’re in Singapore so why not try it again? We had booked ahead, but found on booking that we were time limited by the restaurant. Not a great start. The food was average,...on a par with the local Indian restaurant at best, and with a very limited menu. Cost wise, be warned- very expensive for both the quality and quantity on your plates. Hugely disappointing and of course, we won’t be returning. Raffles used to be a place in all respects where quality applied in all areas. As far as the tiffin room goes, avoid. I can only assume that now profits are more important than returning customers.More

Felt like they were trading on the Raffles brand to justify the price of the food. Service was good but not spectacular, decor was good but not amazing and the food was poor to average. For example our lamb main course was a little chewy...rather than melt in the mouth tender. Cheese starter was bland and so was the ice cream dessert. The food and wine was expensive which marked it down from average to poor in my book. Disappointing!More

We are inside Singapore's most iconic hotel, set in a beautiful garden. The venue of what is probably the most expensive Indian restaurant in the world's most expensive city is very well appointed. Some dishes are excellently interpreted (some, not all), including palak paneer and...aloo ghobi). But otherwise the restaurant does not live up to the standards of the prestigious hotel. Service was slow and extremely careless (2 children and an adult didn't touch food and no waiter or dining manager noticed). No one helped us with the request for less spicy food for some, nor during dinner did they ask us if everything was to our liking (which it was not). Everyone was pushy in selling us tasting menus and expensive wines instead of the choice we had already made (we are Europeans, and we are familiar with the wines on the scarce and overpriced wine list - full of champagne to satisfy the exhibitionism of another type of clientele). Our requests for rice and naan were only met when the dishes were already cold. Dinner is consumed with a noisy background of rude international guests conversing loudly. Nothing to do, service, quality, temperature of the food: it is all to be reviewed. Last but not least, the bill: out of this world for a dinner that at 1/4 the price elsewhere would have earned at least the privilege of not being abandoned by the staff for the whole dinner.More

The food at the Raffles Tiffin Room Indian Restaurant was overrated and overpriced. I ordered the scallop dish for my main dish and all I received was four scallops. Our son had five prawns in his main prawn curry. As a result of this poor...experience, we cancelled a further booking for afternoon tea at the Raffles Hotel. I believe the hotel is simply trading on its old reputation and history. It is certainly not providing a culinary experience that is worth anywhere near what they are charging. Do both your stomach and your wallet a favour and try a different Indian restaurant instead.More

The service and our overall experience at the Tiffin Room was incredibly disappointing. Not only did we have to pour our own water and wine, but the staff appeared more interested in their own conversations than attending to patrons. While the food was just ok,...it failed to meet the standard or live up to the previous experiences we've had at Tiffin. Despite our affinity for the Raffles Hotel and past enjoyable experiences, bringing out-of-town guests here was a regrettable decision. If you're considering dining here or entertaining guests, I strongly advise exploring alternative restaurants in Singapore that prioritize exceptional service and guarantee a truly memorable dining experience.More

This is a beautiful choice for dinner. Firstly at the historic and stunning Raffles Hotel. This hotel always takes my breath away - so refined and elegantly done. It’s still from a time gone by. But done so well! The restaurant itself is delightful. An...interesting - not huge - menu but the food is delicious. Some Indian classics but also some modern and quirky dishes. The dining room is stunning and such a lovely choice for a special occasion. Or for family get togethers. Stunning. Fully recommend if you are looking for an elegant choice to dine at.More

Yes, it’s expensive but if you can afford it, it’s worth it. The ambience is elegant and refined, Service is efficient without being over attentive. It results in a relaxed environment to enjoy the well cooked food. Our curries were both delicious. The spicing was...restrained allowing the flavours of the entire dish to come through. Portion sizes were generous and at lunchtime we were unable to eat all of what was put in front of us, even without having a starter. With a glass of wine the bill for 2 was over 230 Singapore dollars. Not cheap, but it was a lovely experience and you get what you pay for.More

First, overall experience was amazing. The look and feel of the restaurant is posh, quiet, clean and it was a nice place fore a couple and special occassion dinner. Of course, being located in the iconic Raffles hotel has a part to play too. Second,...the service was impeccable. They made recommendations, so don't shy away even if you've not tried indian cuisine, the lovely staff are sure to guide you. Special thanks to Robin for making our dinner an even better one with his wonderful and thoughtful service. Third, biggest thanks have to go to the chefs who we never meet as they are too busy prepping up the sumptious meal. Butter chicken, the prawns and naan bread hit the spot! We also had the Mango lassi to go with the food and toroughly enjoyed them all. Had the Chai Masala to close off this wonderful dinner. Thank you Tiffin Room!More

Absolutely marvellous dinner in the Tiffin Room at Raffles. Staff so attentive and knowledgable and nothing too much trouble. Surroundings are historic and comfortable and its worth strolling around the gardens. Magical evening and the food was beautifully cooked and spiced.

Not a shadow of its former self! The wonderful buffets have disappeared. And with it the whole atmosphere. It’s grogne just an ordinary Indian restaurant, not bad but not special.

Tiffin room - excellent service, lovely surroundings and great ambience. Reasonable value considering it’s in Raffles. Food was very good with just the right amount of spice, and portion sizes are just right.

This is an iconic restaurant in Singapore set in the Raffles Hotel, however if you are expecting to see the inside of the hotel you can forget about it-even if you need the restroom you are directed outside the restaurant not toward the lobby. I...can understand the Long Bar having customers go around to the side exit, however for a fairly expensive meal I think it would be appropriate to be able to enter through the main lobby as the Tiffin Room is quite small so it would not add too much foot traffic. Having to go around to the side entrance was off putting and made me feel quite unwelcome. Once seated, the wait staff scurried around to ensure good service, the food was served quickly and was fine tasting. Again the ambience was lovely except for the nagging feeling of being "not worthy" to enter through the front door. There are even elegant gates within the restaurant blocking you from entering the access to the lobby. Next time I will find an equally tasty Indian restaurant where customers are received in a more welcoming manner, especially for the price of the meal we had.More

The one star is for the entrees. The lamb chops were particularly good. The mains lacked so much. Especially the mint fish and creamy lobster. Both really lacked taste. Desserts, nothing special. Do the staff here actually eat their own food? At 236 SGD for...2, before the +++ , not worth it!More

One of the best curries I’ve ever had! It was immaculate service, great vegetarian selection and we sat outside by the fountain and it was beautiful. It was expensive, but if you want a nicer meal it’s worth it! Raffles the hotel itself is so...beautiful, we went to the writers bar in the hotel for a pre dinner cocktail too.More

Just go there and redeem the voucher. Depends how large your family is, for that price you’d better off going to some better Indian restaurants, like Rang Mahal, Punjab Grill, or Song of India.
