Discovered this place, cute little spot with friendly service and free wifi. Food was good, and the ambiance was very relaxing. Good pit stop for travellers.

We stopped at The Loft for lunch whilst visiting Chinatown. The food is pricey but certainly worth it. My husband had brioche toast with ice cream (made on the premises) and berries (see photo) and I had the chicken and avocado on brioche. Both were delicious and you received a good portion. Everything was freshly made to order. Mine looked... More

Located on Smith Street at the edge of the road on the second floor. U can reach there by walking straight from the Exit A of Chinatown station until the end meeting the main road and turning right down 2 small street. We Ordered a Beef Burger and Wings to go with it. The Burger Buns were toasted nicely with... More

Great find! I was so in need of a western meal after being in china town for a week eating nothing but dim sum. They had bangers and mash and lemon pie! I was in heaven! Very comfortable with great service, clean modern and welcoming

Trip advisor showed the restaurant as open, but it was not. Maybe something to do with Chinese New Year celebrations? No signage on the door explaining.

Having googled 'best flat white in Singapore', we went looking for The Loft - only to find that it had been booked for a business function. We told the staff that we had come all the way from Australia for a coffee, and they made an exception (unasked) and offered to make us coffees. Good coffee, and great service!

Had one of the best (or perhaps the best) coffee in Singapore. tried the flat white - neither bitter nor diluted coffee (i.e. that tastes too milky). absolutely loved it ! was surprised coffee is roasted in Singapore because it tastes like those I've had in Australia. barista said coffee is roasted by a local roaster called DockyardCoffee. anyone knows... Just had a coffee here and it's one of the best I have ever has. The waiter describes the blend of beans used and where they source them from. If you don't mind climbing up a flight of stairs it's a great place for a coffee and to sit and watch daily life in Singapore go by

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
