Darbar, Joo Chiat: We dropped by Darbar as it’s near our hood and there was a sudden craving for North Indian fare after a long European trip. There’s also Vatan Se, a cute Indian eatery a few units down with a car front to add to the ambience. Darbar is a no-frills eatery with some token Turkish lamps so points off for ambience when benchmarked against Vatan Se. Service is swift and generally warm. The food is OK, presentation lacking. We had cheese naan that looked like raw naan with cheese absent. We also ordered the Puri after going through their IG feed but the presentation was completely different and dull. Plus it’s overpriced. Shrimp Mirch Masala was rich and tasty but a little overpriced. Our fav was Panner Hariyali Tikka which had a lovely tikka richness and thick slabbed. Thankfully we had discounts thanks to eatigo app but we won’t be back. We will be at Vatan Se which is priced lower and with better looking presentations from what I see on Google Reviews. #eatstylishtravelstylish

An authentic North Indian restaurant isn’t exactly a brand new concept for the Singapore food scene, or that of the East Coast to be honest. So there’s plenty of options if you want similar food. Darbar however doesn’t promise to be anything spectacular, but just good North Indian food. Inside it’s very plain and simple and the service is prompt and nice. The food is good and tastes authentic. The lamb shish kebab had nice spices that gave the soft meat a little kick. The butter chicken was creamy and the meat tender and the lady finger curry was rich in flavour and spices. The garlic naan was as expected, crispy and soft. All in all the meal was nice and enjoyable, the price was a little on the high side, but Darbar was honest and served the food it promised well.

Nice and warm ambiance, friendly owner / partner and very clean place, something I always look for first even before food. The food was excellent and wide variety. We tried north indian vegetarian cuisine although both non veg and veg available. Don't miss Samosas and round it up with Kulphi , very yummy

We had ordered a kebab platter. It was awful. The chicken and fish tasted similar. The mutton was like rubber. Never order again

Cozy ambience and great service. Family of 4, had lunch today. Ordered Bharwan Aloo, Chilli Paneer and Tandoori Chicken for starters with four assorted drinks. All well prepared, Chilli Paneer was outstanding.
For main course had Dal Makhani, Kadhai Paneer and Shahi malai Kofta with roomali roti and Roti basket. Tasty and well prepared. Total bill a reasonable SGD140-. Recommended

Went there for lunch and was impressed with their service and food. Chicken and Lamb Masala were really thick and tasty. The different varieties in the Naan basket makes it interesting and flavorful. We're not big eater so were satisfied with the portion.

Nice cozy ambience, staff real good. Authentic Indian taste of daal makhani and kadhai paneer. I loved it. Portions are small and sufficient for two people only. I loved that they gave complimentary baked masala papad instead of those rice poppadam. Overall great experience. Satisfied my taste buds as well as tummy :)

Hi,
In a few points:
1) Daal was undercooked
2) Biryani turned out to be a joke
3) no water was served after multiple requests
4) no basin to wash hands
5) can write more.... but I guess i will leave it here

This newly opened restaurant fulfills it's promise in more ways than one. Food and service far surpass expectations. Extensive menu n amazing serice are feathers on the hat for this new kid in the block. Special mention goes to Mr Pat,the mixologist who spins some extraordinary cocktails that begs the next visit... Kudos! 👏🏼👏🏼

Yummy food, super service, striking menu.
Food wise: easily the best Indian restaurant in Tanjong Katong. You won’t find better locally. Two highlights: the Amristsari Chole Masala and the Tandoori Chicken Tilka. Spiced just right, my craving for North Indian food was more than satisfied ;) Go for it with confidence...
PS The toilet was clean and the kitchen was clean too. I checked. See pics
