So admittedly I made a bee line across town to visit this place as a result of seeing Anthony Bourdains Singapore episode. The line at 10:30am was minimal and I was served almost immediately. Naturally I ordered the chicken rice. The chicken was high quality...More

If you love chicken and rice, you must visit this place. We were lucky not to find any line as we reached post lunch. Tastes better than it looks. Price is very reasonable.

Viet Ho in Northbridge (Perth) do it better with more flavour, okay it’s not $ 5 in Perth, or Hawker Style, but at home I don’t have to line at 11.30pm to eat at 12pm (most days), they do serve me to the table and...More

We had no idea about what to expect but were recommended this place by a local so gave it a go. We arrived at around 10.30am and there was a line of about 15-20. It did move fast though - it was less than 10...More

Hmmmm, want to try good chicken rice, well this is one of the place. Situated in the non air conditioning food court. The best time to go is around 11:00 am and before 12:00 noon to avoid office crowds. Otherwise, you must prepare to Q...More

Ah the famous Tian Tian, had to try it, after all the hype is legendary. We got there right after they opened so there was no line at all. The lady taking orders appeared to only speak mandarin, but I managed to get the chicken...More

You won't find a better Hainanese chicken rice. I live in Sydney and for years a shop inside AA served the best chicken rice. After the 90s and the closing of the store, no where else serves as good as that old place. Now this...More

Yes, the chicken rice is good, and it's better than most chicken rice that I've tasted, but it doesn't give a 'wow' experience. I went to Maxwell Food Center a bit late, at 4 or 5 PM if I'm not mistaken, and when I got...More

I think that although the food is good here, it benefits from all the media attention. Don't get me wrong, the food was good-mainly the sauce for the chicken, but there are a LOT of places to choose from here at the food center and...More

Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful
sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling
sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its
blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an
Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit
almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony
continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to
the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill.

Almost all chinese businesses close during Chinese New Year. That is the only time in the year they are closed. Tian Tian should be no exception.

It depends on when they run out of chicken. Sometimes as early as 4PM. If it's closed, you can always try out the nearby Ah Tai Chicken Rice stall. It's run by Tian Tian's ex-cook, and closes by 8PM :)

Celebrity chef and host Anthony Bourdain once said that the rice here is so good that you can eat it on its own. One of the most famous Hainanese chicken rice stalls in Singapore, Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice is located in the Maxwell Food Centre, with long queues forming in front of the stall every day.
