Enjoyable dinner on a Friday evening. Ate good South Indian food here along with my first kottu paratha (hope my spelling is acceptable). Washed down with a jug of beer. Great stuff.

This is one of the famous chettinad restaurant in Tamil Nadu (South India). We had lot expectations when visited this restaurant in Singapore but got little disappointed. Biriyanis were not good and tiffin items were ok... We were not able to chew the mutton which were very hard. Overall the experience was not pleasant.

Had lunch here a few days ago, and very much enjoyed the chicken biryani. It was aromatic and flavorful, and the rice was properly cooked. I would have liked a little more chicken, but then there is no such thing as too much chicken!

The dishes we ordered were quite tasty, average to what you normally get and not exactly cheap. the garlic naan I was served was the smallest and worst I have had, tiny, greasy, not puffy and cooked enough, $4:50 for a tiny piece of half cooked mush. Service was without a smile. You can find much better in Little India.

Conveniently located opposite Mustafa, we just crossed a small street for dinner in Anjappar after shopping. My Punjabi friend recommended we try the Kashmiri nan with 2 types of masala dishes, it was mouth-smattering good. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely will go back again.

I've been there a couple of time, the first time I was with some Indian colleagues and they brought me there. Then I returned with a friend. The food is really nice and there is a large variety. Spiced food is really hot, so pay attention...

Our first morning in Singapore took place in "Little India" district, starting with the Tekka Market. So at lunch hour we were still in the neighborhood, and this one has most caught our attention among the restaurants of the area. As I later learned, "Chettinad" is the name of a region in Tamil Nadu state (southern India) which is distinguished... More

Staying in Little India

Neighbourhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly coloured saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colourful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Centre, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colourful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
