The Cafe Batavia should definitely be on the to-do list when visiting Jakarta. Very conveniently located in the old city, the place takes you back in time as soon as you walk through the door. Absolutely great ambience, though food and drinks are not cheap.

Not worth to try other than to feel the ambience of old town and friendly staff. For the foods? Don't bother, foods outside this restaurant can be absolutely top-notch than in here. We got the nachos and fries to snacking. The nachos when they arrived were a total of 12 delicately balanced on a huge heap of lettuce. They tasted... More

I was here with my husband, we were strolling around on Sunday during 'car free day' and hubby decided to take a bus to 'kota tua' (old town) area. Visited museum bank indonesia first then heads here. We just want a morning coffee boost. We got a place nearby the window on the 2nd floor for non-smoker. The place itself... More

Talking about colonial heritage of Jakarta, this is the perhaps the most beautiful place to remind that and enjoy it too- Cafe Batavia. Jakarta was known as Batavia for almost 325 years during Dutch occupation. Cafe Batavia at Fatahillah Square is one of the most preserved colonial buildings of erstwhile Batavia Castle. It has got authentic decor, ambience and taste.... More

Fully refreshing.. After 2 hours of walkaround at the oldtown, fresh juice and sweets tasted perfect. Roomy and comfortable with high ceilings. Live music is not so laud if you you use the upper floor. Menu is rich yet not too expensive for western currencies. Fully recommended.

You can feel like you are Back in time. So many photos on the wall. View for main square. I just had a beer so can't say anything about food. I loved it anyway.

Service-Good Foods-Various choices eg steak, spaghetti, luwak coffee Price- Mid range Environment- Good decorative, best for photo shooting View- Nice if sit at side window or corridor Location- strategic... nearby with few 'must visit' museum. But traffic is terrible...better go with Grab bike or Gotjek Overall- worth to try
