Enjoyed Indian food here although they also menu items for Tibetan food, Chinese, western etc. Note that their lunch customers are mostly westerners brought by their guides. We liked the food and service. From the square next to the restaurant there is a security entrance to Joining temple and Barkjor street.

Just in front of Barkhor Plaza on the corner of Danjielin Road and Jiayang East Road, you may find a branch of Lhasa Kitchen Restaurant (拉萨厨房). Recommended by our guide, I have found it is very good in service and food. There, I got the best Yak meat buns (牦牛肉饺子) I have tried during our journey. Mushroom chowder was also... More

This is NOT a luxury restaurant, but it has DELICIOUS food. Try their vegetarian momo, hot masala tea, and Indian thali (spelling?) set. Also location is amazing! Just in front of Jokhang temple

The restaurant is in a prominent location considering that is located in just opposite Jokhang Temple. Our guide brought us here on our first day, and not to our surprise, there were plenty of tourists there. I wouldn't recommend this place. The food was nothing fantastic. I had the chicken fried rice which was dry, the chicken was over cooked... More

Good choice of Tibetan, Nepali, Indian and Western food. Not high-end but certainly good enough for tourists and the backpacker crowd. I had the Nepali Set which was quite good.

We had dinner here almost every night we stayed in Lhasa first of all because iit's the only one we found opened at 10 p.m., but mainly because of the food, delicous, the staff, very nice and english speaking, and because of the nepali dishes that we choose in the end instead of "always-the-same" tibetan food. Portions are sometimes small... More

The location is good: right in front of Jokhang Temple, at the center of Bahkor Street. Very easy to find. To me, the first good thing about this place was the variety of dishes they offered. They served Western, Chinese, Burmese, Nepalese and of courses Tobetan foods. And I am not saying just a few options for each, but plenty.... More

Based on reviews, I decided I would take dinner here one of the nights that I spent in Lhasa. My guide encouraged me to try other restaurants. The next day, I had to admit to him that he was correct. Lhasa Kitchen has about the same choices as most other local restaurants, prices may be a bit higher, service was... More

I wouldn't actually recommend this restaurant, there are much better options in Lhasa. We ordered a chicken masala which was very good but the dal was very watery and the palak dish we had was definitely not spinach. The restaurant doesn't look very inviting unlike other places we ate.

Lhasa Kitchen is probably the best restaurant in Lhasa for Westerners because it not only serves Tibetan dishes (YAK meat) but it also serves Western and Indian dishes. After our tour of the Jokhang Temple that is located across a square from the restaurant, we decided to have lunch here at the Lhasa Kitchen. We had decided to have some... More
