Daily breakfast was included in our room rates, it was such a great deal! We tried as many different menus as we could and could not fault any. It was so delicious, I am not a morning person but I was excited to wake up every morning to have my breakfast at Amber. One thing to consider, the portions are... More

My wife took me to celebrate my birthday at the Amber Restaurant. It was my first visit. She booked in advance up to 2-3 months before my birthday in early December. The food was amazing, although expensive, but it was well worth it for a special occasion. The service offered were tailored made and client oriented. I would rate it... More

Was here to splurge for my birthday with my partner as I've heard amazing reviews about this place. We were greeted with a posh and quiet setting and services were attentive. We had the degustation menu w/o wine pairing. Mind you, the food was good but not spectacular for the price in my opinion, if I compared this with degustations... More

We had a memorable evening celebrating for my birthday! A fantastic restaurant! The service and food was good. We had the 9 course degustation with wine pairings. Definitely will return for our next celebration.

We were in our anniversary and experience that we had in the restaurant was fantastic. A must in Hong Kong. The attention of all the people who attended us was incredible. Can not wait to return.

Should be 3 stars. No question. And Head Chef Richard Ekkebus wasn't even there that evening. We had the 9 course degustation with wine pairings. Frankly 9 wines was too much for me and it would have been great to have a cheaper option with perhaps a new wine every second course. Each course is sublime and the presentation is... More

Just say the dinner is not worth the price at all. It's really expensive but not really delicious. We had lobster and Japanese beef steak. The lobster was fine but steak was not so satisfying.

Dear Yusuke A San, Thank you very much for visiting us at Amber and for sharing your comments. While we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the lobster, we are truly sorry that the beef didn't meet your expectations. Please rest assured that we only source the best ingredients, the beef we use comes from Miyazaki farm and is... More

This meal was best described as a dining experience. Far more than eating or drinking! The tasting menu with pairing wine option was absolutely perfect. A must try. Could not fault a single part of the meal. As if the food wasn't good enough already, the highly attentive service made it all the more enjoyable. Genuinely felt like their customers... More

We went for breakfast after a short break in HK. The breakfast menu was incredible, with something for everyone. The service was great too.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
