Food quality here is good, and comes at a small price. Do not stinge, take the set meals which will get you a drink and side dish for just roughly HK$10 above the main course in my experience. It's a no brainer, don't avoid the sets.

One of the oldest wonton brand names in Hong Kong. As usual, the small bowl of wonton noodles is great but one bowl is simply too little. Tried the fried wonton but that is not good at all.

Chee Kei is a restaurant chain offering transitional HK noodle dishes. I tried the branch at Central (Connaught Road Central) and liked it very much. Its noodles and soup base are good. Comparable to any of the big names in HK. Mak Man Kee's wonton and beef briskets maybe better but Chee Kei is one up on soup base, noodle,... More

Having done the down-town check-in of our luggage at the HK station, we had some time to spare, and decided to have brunch at Chee Kei, recommended by the customer service staff at the MTR. They had some really good value-for-money set meals at HKD70/80. It comes with a noodle/congee, a drink and a snack/dessert. We had the wonton noodles,... More

The modern style of noodle shop in Hongkong, serves noodle, wonton, dimsum and vegetables. The food are so good and delicious. The noodle so soft. My favorite is the crap soup there. You will love it as I do!! The clear english menu is on the paper sheet. They show the kind of food that you can do select what... More

We ordered a wantan noodle set with ice milk tea and chicken wing and another fresh shrimp wantan noodle. Total price was HKD 128. We can hardly tell the difference between the 2 as the fresh shrimp wantan is slightly bigger than the std wantan. The noodle was also quite small portion. Milk tea and chicken wing was so so... Chee Kei restaurant is located on Lock Road next to the Southern edge of Kowloon Park. We came on a weekday and the place was busy, a good sign. The menu is traditional: Good quantities of unpretentious food. Decoration and table decoration give the restaurant a simple ambiance. Service is adequate. Actually the Chee Kei formula is simple: OK Chinese... More

They have the best congee and wanton noodles. A must try in HK. Long queue during lunch and dinner time. Place is a bit crowded.

We stayed at the Urban pack hostel and Chee Kei is literally 5steps from the hostel. We ate here on our last day in Hong Kong around 10:30pm at night, they close at 11pm but they welcomed us in and friendly server helped us to order exactly the things we wanted to get. Make sure to get a glass of... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
