Several of us had dinner there for reunion. We had a great evening, and the food was tasty and well-presented. The ambience and service was good. Above all we were knocked out by the dessert - sticky red date pudding and a few of us even ordered some for take away. The cost was on the high side but not... More

This is probably the best cantonese restaurant chain in hongkong in my opinion I usually have roast pork and goose here and in hk, but today decided on crispy chicken instead. It was very good. Also had the crispy rice with lobster broth. Very umami but they overdid with the salt/msg Service can be spotty depending on the branch, but... More

We had organized a business dinner for 9 people including visitors from France. We booked for the second sitting, at 8.30pm and arrived on time only to be told that the table wasn't ready. They made us wait 25 minutes with no more than a perfunctory "sorry" whenever we asked for an update. We finally got our table just before... More

Was staying at a hotel close by and went here with the family. The dim sum was good but we also ordered a full steamed fish and the price of just the fish came at around 1300 hkd. Which is ridiculous. Very overpriced for the quality of food and service that we got. You'd be better off getting some food... More

Went for a dim sum lunch, complete with soup + dessert. Staff is quite attentive, food is nice as expected. Rather limited selection of dim sum however the dessert of the day was excellent. Won't really go all the way back for it as I was expecting more than average Dim sum presentation, selection and taste.

This Central branch used to be my favorite dim sum restaurant. But 4 out of the 5 items we ordered on that Sunday morning was way below standard. The fried pork bun was neither crispy nor hot so was the turnip cake. The multi-layer cake was bland. Even the shrimp dumpling and Char Siu Bun were lukewarm. As I was... More

Since young i have always ate at the Lei Garden in Singapore therefore when i visited Hong Kong i decided that i should try the Lei Garden there. As usual during lunch hours, the restaurant was packed and waiting times could be 1-2 hours long. We decided to leave our name on the waitlist while we walk around the mall,... More

This chain of restaurants has several branches in Hong Kong, I happened to visit the branch at IFC... and I must say this was ne of the more memorable food experiences of Chinese food I had. An excellent roast chicken, great fresh crunchy and tasty vegetables, the roast duckling to die for and lovely roast pork. Quite outstanding, exquisite in taste. The... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
